Ok, i recently went from Firefox Version 8.0 to version 1.0 because, well, it told me to. Something about a downloads issue in 8.0/9.0.

Anyway, I managed to retrieve all my bookmarks, and everything is dandy - mostly. I am able to scroll, but, y'know when you click on the scroll, and it gives you that little circle, with the triangles indicating up, down, left, and right? Well, that doesn't show up anymore. Any suggestions?

LIKE OMG DOWNLOAD OPERA DOWNLOAD OPERA DOWNLOAD OPERA.

...in all seriousness, I've never encountered that scrolling problem before. I'd check with the MozillaZine folks first.

I would, but I doubt that my Bookmarks and crap will be automatically transferred.

Actually, I have Opera. What am I talking about?

Anyway, if I could transfer my Bokmarks to Opera, then I would use it. but I dunno how. So I will live with the lack of the push-scroll thingie for now.

File > Import > Internet Explorer (or Netscape) Bookmarks

By the way, I was just kidding about the "download Opera" remark. I was mocking all the Firefox fans who always post "Get Firefox!" whenevery someone asks for help with Internet Explorer, spyware, or any other web browsing-related problem.

Tools > Options... > Advanced > Browsing

There are one or two scrolling options there. Generally I just turn them all on and scrolling works just like IE (I think the option is autoscrolling. It's in there anyways. Or should be.). ;)

I turned autoscrolling on and still have this problem.

Is your problem just Firefox? Could it be a problem with your general mouse settings?

Try opening a Word document and see if you can use the scroll feature.

Hm... It works fine for me.

Try typing in

Code:
about:config

Into your address bar, and then seeing if there is anything thre.

Ya, the Tools > Options > Browing > Turn on "autoscrolling" is the answer I was looking for.

Thanks all. And, dragon, I have yet to swtich from Firefox to Opera because I fail to see the point. Firefox works, so why swtich? What are the differences/benefits of the 2 anyway?

The main difference is the philosphical approches.

Opera is a closed-source, complete program; no need to download or update "extensions". Outside programs and add-ons are relatively small and limited, but that doesn't make a difference: It comes with everything (mail client, browser, chat, rss feeder, etc.). It also places ads to cover developing costs.

On the other end, Firefox is an open-source, bare bones, go-for-it program. Every component can be downloaded seperately (Chat, FTP, Browser, mail client), anyone can add-on to the program, and it's infintiely customizable.
