Is it possible to move a population point to another base using a Colony Pod? For instance, I tried building a Colony Pod at base X, moved it to base Y, and set Y as its Home Base. I was then thinking perhaps disbanding the unit would return the population to its Home Base, but no dice.

Is this possible? It would help when you get a famine at a base and can't produce enough food for everyone, or if you've reached maximum population.

Hi onehand,

Welcome to CFC and the Alpha Centauri forum!

Yes, you can use a Colony Pod (CP) built in one base to increase the population of another base. To do so, move the CP into the desired base and press the b (lowercase) key. This technique works even if the receiving base is at its hab limit and doesn't have a Hab Complex/Dome. Its population will still increase.

Yes you can. And it's especially useful if you have built the Cloning Vats, then you can produce colony pods in the bases with hab domes and increase the population manually everywhere else (so you don't reach starvation levels or need to build more hab domes than necessary). It's also neat if you need to get new bases up to size 3 fast.
