I am interested to know if people are planning on going to see this movie.

Especially if you are not a Christian would you go see this movie?

If you have not heard of the movie you can search by the moive title on any search engine and find out more. The movie is directed by Mel Gibson and covers the last 12 hours of the life of Chirst with some flashbacks of earlier times included. There has been a lot of talk over it during the last year so I would think most already have heard of it.

It is being released Feb. 25th.

What do you think of this movie coming out? Will you watch it and why?

I will see it and am very much looking forward to it.

I plan to watch it. I probably won't be able to catch it in theaters, but I will rent/buy it on DVD.

What got my attention was this statement by Pope John Paul II after having seen the movie - "It is as it was."

Got to love terseness.

I can’t wait to see it and I dread to see it at the same time. Just from the trailer I know it will be painful to watch. However, I feel I need to see it to help me understand what it was like for him. I think when that movie is over I will feel quite ill for some time and it will take me awhile to come to grips with it.

Simply said as a Christian I believe Christ was on the cross for me. He took the pain for me. When I watch the movie that thought will be at the forefront of my mind. I wish I would be able to view it alone because I know the experience will be very difficult for me.

That being said I hope many people will get to view it and hopefully gain an understanding of why we Christians Love Jesus so much.

I understand why some think it is prejudice against Jewish people because of the ferocity which they wanted to crucify Christ. The point they seem to miss is that mob calling “Crucify” Crucify” represents me. I see myself in the mob calling for his death as one time in my life I lived as if I hated Christ and even now the actions of my life show rebellion against him. The Jewish mob represents all people, myself included.

I will see it as it is.

The cross was trivial compared to the amount of schmaltz this poor Nazarene rabbi is getting buried under.

Yet another dramatization.... Wasn't the Bible enough?

I'll check it out in the theatre.

It has got all the Hollywood liberals up in arms, so you know its got to be good! :D

I am looking forward to seeing it. I am disappointed to learn that the original version was canned after it was stigmatized as being anti-semitic. Anything getting that much flak must be good. Oh well, I still think it will be worth seeing.

It seems like some of you who don't call yourself Christians are still going to see this movie about Christ.

I am glad of that.

AFAIK it wasn't canned. All the major studios just refused to publish it so Gibson did it himself.

I'm going and I'm planning to make out with my woman in the theatre until I get tossed out. Hehehe.

Skullbones,

I began to write some very harsh things about what I would do to you if you happanded to be in the theater with me.

Second thought, I am certain you are joking.

Being Catholic I wouldn't doubt he didn't notice the alterations to the story to give it more of a "dramatic" effect.

probably not... the jesus man got struck by lightning... ****ing twice... allah would kill me.

What alterations would you be referring to?
