Moving to Florida?

You might what to be more specific. I'm pretty sure Florida is mostly thought of as a state. However, Florida, Missouri, has a population of 9, so that would be a blast. Florida in Cuba would probably be fun as well.

My mom is considering moving to Florida with my sister. I'll be somewhere in the Northeast for Uni though so I won't have to deal with that horrible place.

At any rate she's considering Florida. What I want to know is it a boring town? Is there anything to do there? Is it a lively town and how are the schools?

Is it a good place to move and how is the weather?

Florida is a state, not a town. Miami, Daytona, Orlando, Tampa, Lauterdale the Keys and most of the south part of the state are great. Beach, broads, nightlife, great food. Very latin, lotta cubanos and carribean immigrants. The downside is a crazy realestate market and a high cost of living, plus humidity.

The north part of the state like Jacksonville and Panama City are a little more like the US south. The weather is a little more moderate and lifestyle is a little slower.

Florida is pretty big too....there are some really fun towns, and some really awful, crappy ones too.

Well I'm don't have to go so it doesn't matter to me personally.

The only person I know who has extensively lived in Florida hated - and still hates - it, mostly because of the climate.

I lived in Florida for two & a half years. I wouldn't particularly recommend it.

My wife, who lived in Florida for over a decade, likes New England a lot better.

I like it for the most part, but I really miss mountains. Everything is completely flat. Other than that though, it's not so bad, although the experience varies greatly from area to area.
