I don't know what to do about it.
Randomly, when starting Mozilla, it just won't search for certain urls.
Instead I get told that the url can't be found, yet Mozilla doesn't even look for it. Then I have to close all windows and open Mozilla again, and sometimes repeat the procedure again, then it works. It seems to be the case that it happens preferably with certain urls. Apolyton often doesn't work, Hotmail sometimes, Geocities from time to time, Civfanatics never makes problems.
I already had the problem with 1.3, but now with 1.4 it happens too often to ignore. It's starting to annoy me and I even start to think about -may I say it?- IE again...

Have you tried cleaning your profile directory??? That could do the trick, since profile corruption are the cause of so many problems. Other than that, you could still try to reinstall, or redownload. Oh, and if none of this works, I suggest asking at www.mozillazine.org . They are a mozilla site, so chances are you'll find more help on their fora than here.

Oh, and if you just use moz for the browser, you might want to try Mozilla Firebird instead. It's less bloated and way faster, and if you don't need mail/composer/chatzilla I find it to be way better than plain moz. :)

Hmm... well I know it's not necessarily the same thing, but if that problem were to occur in IE, you could always go about clearing your DNS. Open up the command prompt and type in "ipconfig /flushdns" and that would fix the problem. Whether or not this will work with Mozilla, no clue. But it does no harm to try :)
