Am i seeing 0-2 games on average because im going through steam?

is it because im a noob at it counts rankings?

any help would be appreciated, ty

You mean looking for games inside Civ5? Yes, it's because of Steam...it filters games so you only see those in your region.

You can join a steam group for civ players that uses a chatroom and forms private games with players from all over the world.

No Quitter is one such group. It's a private group where players play under a set of rules based on no quitting. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/NO_QUITTERS
This link will take you to the steam page you can join the chatroom from there. Once there ask around someone will always be willing to help you. We play for fun no rankings.

Civ players is another group which has its own ranking system for those who are more competitive. www.civplayers.com

Another option if you just want to play through the civ lobby is you can change your server region. In order to do so you must have steam open but civ closed. Then go to your home page. At the very top left click steam. Then click settings-downloads&clouds. Once there the third option down is download region. You can change the server your in there. I believe you need to resteam in order for changes to take effect.
