Am I right in thinking that if you have MPP with two different civs who then declare war on each other you won't have to take sides with either??

So to avoid being dragged into wars - the more MPP's the better - or am I missing something obvious here?

wrong sorry but you take the side of the person who took the first hit. meaning the person who attacks a unit is the agresser and you declare war on him

they're double-edged swords. if your mpper starts a war u're in it too and lose your trade with them plus that's how world wars get started. otoh, mpp with the most powerful civ keeps em off your back.

thanks for the replies - can't you tell that up till now I've always played peacful builder type games!

Just as I am trying on harder levels I'm getting dragged into wars I when I don't want to - wasn't sure about the MPP situation - have to go and experiment more.......

Yeah and if the whole world has MPP then it can get real messy when one is attacked.

For example in my last game I had a MPP with Germany and China
France had a MPP with China
Germany had a MPP with Rome and Me(Americans)
China had a MPP with Rome and Me(Americans)

When I decided to attack France China declared war against me.
Germany Declared war on China
Rome declared war Germany
I was forced into Decalring war with Rome via MPP.

Needless to say the world was at war.

That is true..
I had no idea the French had a MPP with China. Somehow I missed that. Should of consulted with my advisors before attacking. Oh well I welcomed the challenge.

never attack first bring a unit they strike you strike after and you don't get in trouble
