Multiplayer Direct IP Problems

Hello I'm new to the forums and I need help on setting up a game with 3 people on Direct IP. I tried LAN game but it keeps saying Socket errors. So, we try the Direct IP connect. We all have 3 laptops, and we are using wireless Ad Hoc connection. We copy each other IP's down and tried all different ways but we can only connect 2 people. The 3rd person screen always saying connecting to and the player who is not hosting the game but they entered the hosts IP. The 2 people not hosting both enter the one who is hosting's IP. Now I did some research before asking this and have not found the solution! All I see online is people complaining of the online/internet multiplayer IP connect. This is NOT online or on internet connection. We are trying to play in the same room with 3 laptops on a wireless connection. If we need to use wires we have them so help with that too if you cant tell me how to get the ad hoc wireless without internet to work. Only 2 of us can play together and it sucks. We want the 3rd person to be able to connect. And yes we have tried all different connections, I can connect to player 3 if player 2 is not connected, etc.. And YES firewall and anti-viruses are all OFF.. Hope you all can help

you should probably try LAN instead, and if its possible go with cables and router the old way. Maybe be sure not to use tcp/ip 6 but tcp/ip 4 in your computers' network settings.

But in all honesty im not that tech savvy, this is mostly experience from trial and error.
