Multiplayer Fixed?

Can someone tell me if multiplayer works better? My brother and I used to like to play Civ IV as if it were single player, but two people in the same game... We liked to play with 12 AI civs and 2 human civs in the game.
In vanilla civ V, the AI would never talk with you, and that would make this style of play greatly more difficult. Does gods and kings fix this problem? Does the AI talk with you and do you get real notifications now? Please god, this is all i wanted in this expansion.

The real change(and the most important) have been to add a quick movement option. When enabled, this can double speed a mp game. I played over 100 turns in less than 1 hour and half with 6 players a couple of days ago.

I don't play with AIs in mp.
