I have posted about this in the MP forum, to crickets. I am about to give up on multiplayer until I figure this out, though, so as a last resort, I am posting here. Starting to wonder if it's just some technical issue or what? I get no hits on Google, and no help here, so getting very frustrated.
We have played 3 games now and wasted many hours, and never once seen an AI civ, even though we had a Huge Shuffle game, Standard Shuffle game, and Huge Fractal game, that we were just playing.
Huge land masses, with no AI.....finally got to Astronomy and no AI anywhere, even though it's a Huge size game, with 13 civs, or whatever. What on earth is going on?
Has no one ever seen this in MP? I am sure people are playing MP, so doubt it's a game issue. But, I have zero idea on what the cause is, or how to fix this. I just know we aren't going to waste anymore time playing, until it's figured out.
What's more, in this last Fractal game, I could swear it's raging Barbs....and they are technologically advanced...had Musketmen before us, and just now Gatling Guns, and I don't even have that tech yet(playing on Chieftain and my son on Settler). I understand that because it's a humongous land mass(probably supposed to have a bunch of AI civs on it!)....Barbs are going to proliferate....but it still seems very odd, how many and how advanced they are.
The whole thing seems very, very, weird, for my first MP games.
