Hey Guys, sorry to start a new thread it is taking forever to find what I am looking for and my question is very specific. I have made an epic scenario, both a single player and a 2 player version. In scenario properties/players i have player 2 as a human. I also have all 31 civs as playable AND i have 31 start locations all over the world. In single player I get to play against 30 others, However, when I load up the hotseat game and then my scenario it allows me and my buddy to play a hotseat game BUT only 6 other slots for computers are available! Is there any way around this? we want to play the scenario as it was intended... me... my buddy... and 29 other mofos... :)

Someone Help!

Thank you.

wow, well I at least I have a suggestion for what to change for the next civ game! I dunno why they'd limit a hotseat game like that, i can see why youd limit a net game but hotseat!?! The only difference from the single player version is that my friend is playing too so I can't see any great difficulty in terms of how the game runs as a reason for restricting players to 8. It seems to me like a decision that would be good for net play that got forced onto hotseat play. IMHO terrible terrible.

:(

They should have just placed hot seat games in single player style games, it's single computer after all... "lazy coding" my buddy calls it

time/effort/money for people that are professional programmers already?? It should have been done in the first place and it wouldn't have been difficult at all. If you look at the pc games coming out in 2004, as well as the PS2, GameCube and XBOX titles Civ3 and its program is very basic. That's why Play the World won worst game of the year for 2003 (2002?) from pc gamer because as a game that should be very simple to run as a multiplayer it was one of the worst multiplayer games ever as it was almost impossible to complete games until the patches poured out. I haven't played a MP game on conquests but I'd hope that has all been fixed. As my friend said: "Civ conquests is the expansion that should have come out", PTW was a waste of his money and mine.

As I was saying though, if you can run real time first person shooter games like Halo or Call of Duty and not lose a step online then Civ 3 should run like a dream AND adding a hotseat (for civ4) to the single player game is not a big deal when one looks at some of the marvels of programming that are available with today's newest games.

My suggestion for CIV 4 would be start off in the first place with hotseat as single player which would leave MP as 8 player (so as not to slow things down) and would allow 2 or more players at a single machine to enjoy playing against more than 6 others!

:crazyeye:
