Is it possible to make 2 or more colonies on the same continent? Have two colonies on two different continents, but I want to make another one on the same continent as one of my colonies. It only gives me the option to give the cities to my existing colony?

Almost always other civs (if this is a terra map you're talking about) will also create colonies on the same contintent as you. Maybe if you captured those cites you could make them into another colony. I don't know though.
