MultiPolarity: Electric Nukealoo

Spoiler :

I do believe the final map is done. Before you panic, understand that land is not everything in this game. Major powers might have less land than some of the minor powers, but they use it far, far more efficiently.

So without further ado...

Mississippi Federation
Formed from a combination of resurgent Native American peoples, remnants of American government, and independent polities ranging from cities to counties, the Mississippi Federation dominates the basin that is its namesake. While not as economically or military potent as its neighbors, the Federation occupies a strategically important location between the three main powers north of the Rio Grande.

Bolivarian Republic
A largely unscathed Ecuadorian people were able to establish a vast realm throughout the Andes and Amazon River basin. What started as an empire was eventually reformed into a democratic republic based on socialist principles. Most businesses are run as cooperatives, with services such as utilities administered by government-enforced revenue-neutral monopolies.

Liberia
The Liberian police state has a history intertwined with race. The Liberian state ideology considers scientific advancement to be an innate ability of any culture, with some merely advancing faster than others. Despite this concession to the ideals of human equality, however, Liberia as a state possesses strong sentiments against non-African ownership of the continent. It similarly embraces a dogma that it is its duty to uplift all Africans. Nationalism, authoritarianism, and imperialism have all come together to create a potent force in West Africa, that is regularly at war with both of its closest neighbors. On its face, Presidential Liberia remains a democracy, but anyone who is politically savvy knows this is untrue.

Maghrebi Republic
A state dominated by Morocco, the Maghrebi Republic brings back memories of infantile democracy, with only propertied males able to cast a vote in its elections. Much like the United States that old Morocco was the first to align with, it nonetheless has established extensive freedoms and liberties for many citizens despite withholding of the franchise. Its less-than-egalitarian democratic model is ironically critiqued by the Liberians, who have regularly gone to war with them over the Senegal region.

Nigerian Republic
The Republic of Nigeria is a theocratic democracy, believing that God’s people will always make the divinely-inspired choice for leadership. The state of Nigeria espouses Christianity as its state religion, and the franchise is given to age 14 or older provided they are Christians. Nigeria has extensive freedoms given even to non-Christians, but a history marred by religious warfare means that legal tolerance is not a guarantee of social acceptance. Nigeria’s electorate are regularly subjected to stringent qualifications to make sure that one’s faith is genuine and not simply an identifier. Nigeria’s Christian nature has led to its being called “corrupted” by Liberia as well as frequent wars with the latter. While it would have a natural ally in the Maghreb, conflicting ideas on sex, democracy and religion have kept the two from forming a lasting effort to defeat the Liberians.

Angola
Through shrewd political maneuvering, Stalinist Angola was able to assume control of much of Sub-Saharan Africa in the chaos of the past centuries. Through tight control of expression and a variety of bread and circuses, Angola has remained stable despite an economy that capitalist thieves refer to as “stagnant.” An uneasy peace with feudal South Africa has persisted with minimal border skirmishes for some time; any concepts of world revolution were abandoned after numerous failed campaigns.

Kingdom of South Africa
In a bizarre mirror of the apartheid era, the fall of the old South African government led to a resurgence of ethnic nationalism that saw the creation of several polities. Under threat from various outside powers and seeking to keep warfare to a minimum, a weak monarchy and central government were created by the various localities to provide for defense and foreign policy. The central government has a largely symbolic role barring times of crisis, which has resulted in most of South Africa entering a feudal state of existence. This feudal society has often put it at odds with Angola, but fruitless wars have led to peace between the two.

Roman Republic
The Roman Republic’s history drips with blood. Though now a democracy (albeit with high levels of income inequality that have led to a de facto oligarchy), the collapse of the old order resulted in a free for all in the Balkans from which the Romanians emerged supreme. Exaggerating heritage with the Roman empire based on their name and language, the Romanian Empire forgot about the assimilation of foreign cultures part and focused on the warfare. Already ravaged by disease, many ethnic groups in the Balkans were pushed to near the brink of extinction and have only begun a gradual recovery. While Romania apologizes for the ruthlessness of its forefathers, it has kept the bulk of the land it took in the process for itself (frequently granting the least profitable land to the various minorities) and has nonetheless retained the proud “Roman” moniker.

Xinjiang
What might more accurately be called Siberia has a proud history behind it. Through a mixture of skill and luck, the Uighur people were able to build an empire that stretched from the Caspian to Korea, taking on Chinese culture to the point of making their formal country name Xinjiang while also claiming the Mandate of Heaven. As a result of military failures in India and growing corruption, however, Xinjiang entered an irreversible decline. The modern state of Xinjiang owns not a single square centimeter of its namesake region, but an exiled line of Uighur emperors now rules over a second empire in the north. The various provinces of the empire are virtually independent, but rally behind the Emperor and his Empire for the sake of commerce and defense, keeping order (particularly important given Xinjiang went through several changes between democracy, monarchy and dictatorship during its decline) and thus preserving their power and privilege. Xinjiang is the world’s largest nation without question, but the decentralization of power and corruption have done their part to keep it on the sidelines of global politics; the last Emperor (who reigned over a century ago) to try and restore Xinjiang’s glory perished (in a completely unfortunate accident) shortly after attempting to rebuild imperial authority.

Hindustan
The invasion of the Xinjiang Empire long ago served to unite the people of India for the first time since the 21st century. Despite overwhelming Xinjiang firepower, the Indians repulsed the invaders back over the Himalayas and laid the foundations of a lasting (if incredibly poverty-stricken) state. Hindustan has gradually lost territory, but retains the bulk of the land south of its natural frontiers, the Indus and Ganges Rivers.

The main thing is that Korea and Hawaii are free to make part of the Tengoku Zaibatsu. Tengoku Tourism and Tengoku Entertainment are going to thrive indeed!

ahem, if anyone hasn't seen it, here is my updated sign up.

i would like to continue to update my sign up tomorrow, but due to homework im going to be busy until probably 5:30 tomorrow.

After that i will probably spend my time working on IOT, especially this one.

I love Xinjiang NPC. I am 100% sure that it's story is based on my Xinjiang in MP1. I am so happy right now. :):D:D

You should add King George as one of the Emperors of Xinjiang.

The Xinjiang NPC is indeed based on the Xinjiang of MP1. :p I will neither confirm nor deny if there was a George in its royal line, but local rulers are sometimes given names in a foreign language by outsiders (e.g. many native American chiefs had an English name used by English colonists), so the possibility is there. ;)

Tani is a christos enabler.

Tani is a christos enabler.

Pshaw, you act like I gave Nazi China the world's largest population and militar-

Oh. I did.

Spoiler :
Nazi China's economy is also bottom rung in compensation; Nazi Chinese soldiers are also not as trained as other player nations'.

Nazi China = RL North Korea

Only much larger :p

Everyone!

I actually posted my claims before SK posted anything. I should get Sardinia and Corsica >:(

Hmm. He made his post at 6:49 PM PST and yours followed at 7:08 PST. That leaves enough time to edit without a timestamp as memory serves.

Normally I'd give him the claims since he mentioned them in text (which is good enough) first, but that narrow timeframe makes it harder.

I guess the ball's ultimately in SouthernKing's court as to whether he wants those islands or if he'd be content with some of Portugal.

The stats sheet is pretty much finished.

Everyone, please PM me a rival player nation that you'd like to plant spies in if you haven't already.
