Music/Movie's Forum

I was searching threw the forums the other days and thought that we don't have a forum for music & movies, however popular these two subjects are in our world.

Is there any reason why we don't have one? And if possible... can we get one?

The purposes for a music/movie forum are already well-served by the present OT. I see little need for a new separation.

Of course, you mod those forums.... so it'll be more work for you .

Actually, the point of making a forum about just music/movies is that Off-Topic tends to be "very" busy and threads can easily get lost when something more "dramatic" happens. (one being the war in Iraq)

Well then I'd have a place to put all my band threads.

But I think the threads that sporadically pop up are enough. There aren't that many, after all.

weren't you all for splitting up of the OT?

anyway we do get quite a few threads, but perhaps not enough for their own forum. and if we did, half of them would be CG talking about the white stripes anyway

I would be happy to see a music/movies/tv forum, but since XIII is against it I guess it won't become a reality.

Not as much as against it; as seeing there's little point for such a forum in a gaming site, considering its likely volume.

This suggestion has been raised before, and was shot down each time.

Just about the only OT threads I post in are the music/film ones, and even I don't see any real point in separating them from the rest. They'd just end up getting less traffic because fewer posters would be likely to see them in passing, so the discussion would probably be even less interesting than it is currently.

Currently we are going through a phase where OT will not be allowed to be split up anymore but you never know one day a subject may be taken out of OT.

There aren't enough topics for its own forum. Unless you make it Music/Movies/Books or something. Of course, if you take those out of OT, OT will suck.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but you're right WF. OT would suck without music/movies/books as topics. It would just be a bunch a people whining about Iraq.

Well, they could easily make it a TV Shows/Music/Movies/Books forum. (or name it a "Other Entertainment" with those four as the examples)

That would prolly get a good amount of partcipation to it and leave OT for the Politics .

I've supported that in the past (seperating OT into seperate "Enterainment" and "Serious Discussion" forums), and still do, but its shot down every time by the lazy mods...(that's a JOKE!)

OT wouldn't exist anymore, it would be two new forums being created while ditching OT.

That sounds VERY much like the split KD proposed a few months back. Then again, the situation was a lot more severe back then than it is now. Back then, if a thread wasn't an argument about religion, it turned into one.
