I recently watched High Fidelity and thought I'd start a thread about the art of mix tapes (playlists these days).

1) What are the criteria for putting together a quality mix?
2) Does making a good mix require artistic talent?

I was also thinking we can use this thread to make playlist requests for various purposes (work out mix, driving mix, breakup mix, etc).

So here is my current work out mix, lemme know what you think.

Atreyu - Becoming the Bull
Mushroomhead - Crazy
Linkin Park - Given Up
Bullet for My Valentine - Hearts Burst Into Fire
Disturbed - Indestructible
Disturbed - Stricken
All That Remains - Two Weeks
Story of the Year - Wake Up
Sick Puppies - War
Metallica - Whiskey In the Jar
Sick Puppies - You're Going Down
Saliva - Your Disease
Killswitch Engage - Holy Diver
Crossfade - Cold
Seether - Remedy
Dry Cell - Body Crumbles
X-Ecutioners - It's Goin' Down

I only have one playlist, it's all the music I like in one place.

I like making playlists, but I'm kinda bad at it. People really get into the specific sequencing and what-not; currently I just kinda throw in whatever I want to be in there. But I'd like to try and make better ones.

Making a good playlist does not require artistic talent, only a feel for mood, theme, energy, etc.
