What are some of your must have scenarios and modpacks? I'm looking for a good starting point for what to download.

I guess it really depends on your own taste... I can recommend the review section, which, while it does not yet contain so many reviews, does list a number of top-notch scenarios which comes highly recommended.

Civ2 Reviews Section:

I just downloaded John Valdez' Civ1 modpack, to try and see what he did to simulate Civ1 within Civ2, since I'm exploring the possibilites of simulating some Civ2 concepts/artwork within Civ3. I guess I'm really more of a ripper/creator than a player, so I like to get into what kind of graphics and ideas others have used in their scens. And I prefer historical scenarios over sci-fi and fantasy.

Among many others, I've been very entertained/inspired with scenarios like Brown Man's Burden by Carl Fritz, El Dorado by Jesus Balsinde and kobayashis Zweiter Weltkrieg. But there are MANY others, that are cool. There was a thread some time ago trying to compile a "top 100"... try searching for it.

Also John Valdez Dinosaurs patch was quite unusual, and very atmospheric.

Its better if you are a bit more specific. If a scenario is of a theme you like, you will tend to enjoy it even if it is "not so good". On the other hand, you may find a "good" scenario boring. It may be possible to give a list based on technical proficiency and historical realism but I doubt if that's what youhave in mind.

Also do you like to

kill-kill-kill scenarios?

or

diplomacy-reseach-kill scenarios?

or

civilization building scenarios?

Hey I think I will start a poll on this.
