Yesterday, I was riding my bike.

My tire hit the edge of the sidewalk and i flew off. Then i passed out. I heard sirens....

When i came to, i realized i was in the back of an emergency ambulance. There were 2 ambulances and 3 police cars there. When i looked at myself, i noticed the blood covering me, and the big gash on my arm and thumb. And that my thumb looked like the size of a grapefruit. I had broken that too. :(

    it sucks. :(

That does suck, I once broke my arm at the elbow and tore all the associated tendons (bent the whole thing backwards) in a mountain biking accident.

    This too shall pass.

I know a guy who nearly got killed when he suddenly braked on his bike and one of the parts got stuck in his stomach.... He stayed in the hospital for a month with stuff stuck in him.

Sorry to hear that, China. Just be glad it wasn't any worse, I know some people who got seriously messed up by falling off a bike...

@nivi- When the cops see a kid passed out on the pavement with a blood covered shirt. they dont assume i 'just have a broken thumb'

Sort of thing that happened to me when I used to ride a bike, I'd be forever injuring myself, though I never needed to be scraped off the pavement.

    Hilarious, stuff anyhow :D

Sorry to hear that, I hope your feeling better.

However, that's nothing compared to when I was mountain biking last fall. I was going down a steep and kind of windy trail, I fell normally at first, but then started sliding down the trail with my bike close behind me. I managed to stop and got hit in the back of the head by my bike coming down after me and had a nasty bump there, then as I was getting up, I realized I was cut in about five different places and then some guy ran over me and broke my toe.

Another time, a year ago, I went off a jump wrong on my friends bike, I crashed and the bike landed on top of me. The bike was fine, but another nasty bump and it left a two inch long permanent scar on my leg as well as numerous smaller cuts.

There was another time riding to school, I accidentally rode off the path and as I tried to get back on the same thing happened to me and I hit a tree. Then, five minutes later, I hit a railguard along the road (on the pedestrian walkway side) and did a flip over the bars, nasty bump again and smaller cuts, plus my bike was leaning halfway into the road (resting on the railguard) and it almost got hit by an oncoming car.

Needless to say, I'm exactly the most coordinated person in the world.

Your lawyer suing the owner of the sidewalk yet?

I mean, if it hadn't been there; you would not
have been injured; so it must be their fault?

It doesn't really matter. There's nowhere to ride it anyway. Besides, I'm a coward. I'm scared of roller skating so I don't think I'd do well with bikes. :D

As someone who used to live in Kansas, I can vouch for the validity of that statement.

I've hit 4 cars on my bike in the last year. I have a hard time seeing large stationary objects, while small things like a bug flying through a tree 400 feet away catch my attention. Usually my bike takes more damage than the car.
