    So,
I decided to sell one of my sites that I've been wanting to sell for a long time. The site makes about $200 per month and I'm taking an offer of $5.2k for it.

The site is 6 years old.

You guys think it is a good deal or not in the realm of e-commerce?

Anyone with experience in the field care to chime in?

With the $5.2k, I'll finally have enough to invest in new projects and buy the newest version of Macromedia Flash.

Eh, I actually have no desire to work on it anymore. I have many other sites that are much more profitable. I doubt he'll be willing to pay more as 25x monthly revenue is already over the average.

I think squeezing may be a bad idea at this point.

I guess it depends a lot on how much time you have to invest in it monthly to keep it running.

Earning 4% interest on that $5200 will net you more than you're making each month now. You can almost make more putting that money in an e-trade savings account than you're making with the site as is.

My point is that you should take the money and invest it in something more lucrative.

    It's a win-win scenario.

No, $200 per month on $5200 would be more like 46% p.a. simple interest. Then again you have to take into account the time spent on it each month and the volatility of the earnings.

Blah, 200 a month not a year. In my defense, it's really late here :p

So, it depends on how much time you put in and such, I guess, but financially that's what? Two years' worth of profits? I don't know about that.

Then sell. A business you have no interest in running will never be a worthwhile use of your time.

$200 p/m doesn't seem like a lot of money tbh. You'd probably rather have the free time than the $200 p/m -- the $5.2k is just a nice bonus :)

I'd sell it in a heartbeat. 26 times your monthly income is not too shabby, and if it allows you to kickstart more profitable venues...

Would the $5200 you are able to invest in other projects and Flash net you more than $200 per month in the future? If so, it is most likely worth it to sell. (you would need to do a true NPV analysis to know for sure)

Are you willing to at least maintain it? How much work is maintaining it? Is it likely that it's going to continue to make 200/month over the years with/without adding things to it (or is that your maintenance?)?

Well, I kind of need the 5.2k right now to invest in other projects. I spend no time to maintain it but it'll slowly wither away like everything else if not maintained. And its over 2 years income right now. I think I just do better selling it. I'm focusing more on games sites right now anyways.
