Some of the ideas I got from the forum, and some I made on my own.
Techs/wonders:
1. Mansonry enables slavery, doesn't enable great wall.
2. Spearman enabled by ironworking, impi and Holkan requirement doesn't change.
Chariots are suppose to dominate bronze age, the change also make axe rush less successful, and requires more planning. You will need archers for protection, and move through hill or forest.
3. Clear jungle enabled by Metal Casting.
makes MC more desirable, delay claiming jungle
4. catapult enabled by Machinery.
By delaying catapults, walls are more worthy to be built. It feel right that one builds catapult free learning machinery. The old construction was too great a military tech, which was also very cheap.
5. Construction enables Great Wall, Hagia Sophia. GW cost 250, free wall in same continent, no barb protection, great engineer point. HS cost 300.
It feels right that construction enables wonders that inspires great engineers. I do not like the barb warding of GW. I play with raging barb, GW was unbalancincing
6. Construction add road movement, while engineering build bridge.
makes me think more where to build road
7. Theology enables Chichen Itza, which enables all labor civics, but do not give defense bonus.
CI is a different kind of Pyramids, and it was useless before.
8. First to Divine Right get free prophet. Versailles gives 2 free spys.
Versailles is where Louis IV kepts his vassales under control, he must have employed some spys to do that. Makes this wonder more useful.
9. GLH cost 250, obsolete by economics. castle obsolete by corporation.
10. Oracle gives GSpy points. Hanging Garden gives GArist Points.
The oracle replaces GW as the wonder for EE. It makes more sense that the oracle produces GSpy instead of GW
11. Morai Statues and whaling boat enabled by Compus. Harbor enabled by optics.
12. Oxford cost 600, no bonus from stone. West point cost 400.
13. Angkor Wat gives GProphet hammer bonus.
Traits:
1. Financial get bonus at 3 instead of 2. double market production.
2. Protective doesn't get wall production bonus, instead get 1 from wall. I would feel too knowing I am safe. Also 50% bonus for Great Wall production. That would give Qin Shi Huang 100%.
3. Aggressive gets 100% for stable.
4. Expansive gets 100% for Aquaduct. that makes Baray worth building.
5. Imperalistic gets free flanking I for mounted.
Others:
1. Universal Suffrage gives 1 for village.
2. More free units for Vassalage, a little free military units for pacifism.
3. Catapult's collateral damage start at 80%, every other siege/plane at 50%. Siege can learn combat.
4. militery advisor gives 3 experience points. Great generals gets one more movement, 2 first strikes. also can learn promotions that give 50% city defense or 50% city attack.
5. corn produce 1 less , rice produce 1 more . Dye produce 1 less , silk produce 1 more .
