Well I'm going to try a year long PBEM with some friends from another forum (forums.badassmofo.com), and I've settled on Gandhi. I want to see if I can utilize the synergy between an SE and heavy military.
We're playing Large Terra, Ancient (200pt advanced start), 4-5 humans and 5-6 AI. No teams. Noble difficulty. Random AI Personality.
None of us are Civ4 stars, or anything, all just enjoy the game and play it from Nobel to Prince difficulty.
Still waiting to hear what the others are choosing for civ/leader, although one friend said his first choice is Boudica and second choice is Darius.
I dunno if anyone would be interested, but I thought it would be fun to post screens here and talk about advice, strategy, etc.
Not necessarily for an advantage against the others, but moreso because I've never done civ4 MP before, and going at PBEM pace with such a long time frame to complete the game, I have a feeling it's going to be VERY interesting haha...
Anyhow, drop a line in here if you're interested to be kept up to speed
I guess I should mention that I mainly plan to exploit the others' expected use of CE, and expected turtling strategies while they dart for Astronomy to get to the new world... As for my own trials to get to the new world, I'm undecided if I should not just focus on taking as much of the old world as possible, and possibly enter the new world late for a colony or two (I would probably get them going then release, and proxy war my colony against the humans over there... maybe not, I dunno)...
