Sorry about adding a new thread, but for some reason when I uninstalled my game and reinstalled it, there are no shrines, when I play. I have to have shrines to build a pantheon. In the pottery tech there is no shrine building. When I search in the civpedia for the word shrine it is not there, and the building is not listed in the ancient era. I also have no mods installed. So, that is not it.

I reinstalled deleted game content and reinstalled from my disc, after I had tried to do the same from steam files online. Neither way worked. I figured if I did a clean install from my CiV disc that would take care of things. I have Gods and Kings which I bought from steam retail, but that should be automatically applied to my CiV download along with all my DLCs, correct?

What is the proper way to uninstall and reinstall the game so it is installed correctly? Perhaps I am missing correct procedure somehow.

Before I uninstalled the game, shrines were there, the problem was crashes every three turns. So, I decided to do a clean install. Which never seemed to hurt in the past. Anyway, thanks for any help you can give me. :)

Any savegame for that situation?

no need it just has no shrines. It has to be something to do with the game download

Could you try running a verify local file integrity within Steam? If everything is proper, you will only see 2 files re-acquired. Also, was there a specific civ you were starting with?

Yes, I did that several times. It says the 2 files will be re-acquired. The Greeks this last time. Before that India, and Songhai. I had it on random civ. I can get you files if you need or a save game.

I am running it again just to see. Again, it says 2 files failed to validate and need to be re-aquired.

It sounds like you're running vanilla Civ5 instead of GnK. When you start a game, you should see a menu with a DLC option, as shown in the first screenshot below. When you select this option, the Gods & Kings Expansion Pack option should be selected, as shown in the second screenshot. Does that help?

Maybe let me see.

GnK and all my DLCs are enabled.

No shrines. I never would have imagined it.

The shrine building does get mentioned though.

I think Nokmirt said in one of the other threads that a complete reinstall fixed the problem.

Yes it did. I believe it was a Steam issue. Verifying the integrity of my game cache did not work. I purchased GnK on Steam. So, the only other option I could think of, to set things right was to do a complete reinstall. By doing that it had no choice, but to redownload GnK and update everything at the same time. The thing is I still have to play and see if there are any other issues.
