My Idea

[Strider]

We create a council of 4 people 1 department leader, 2 citizens, and 1 Honored citizen. After that one of those 4 people will create a thread in the goverment sub-forum. In this thread ONLY those 4 people and the mods will be allowed to post in that thread. Those four people are keepers of the constitution, keepers of the peace(mainly they try their best to keep the choas that caused a recent resignment), they attract new people to the demogame, and they help the mods(meaning they report to the mods of a forum rule broken or a demogame rule broken). Those four people have no govermental power. They only try to keep the demogame running smoothly.

These four only loses their poistion if they are impeached or they resign, or if the citizens feel they are not doing their job correctly.


This group can be offcial or unoffcial... It can be elected every term or can stay intill one resigns. Everything can be decided upon.

If we do decide on this one of my first choices will be Shaitan as he does all of this anyway .

I admire the concept you propose here Strider, but I would oppose it, as I feel the constitution should always be a document that all citizens have direct voice and impact on.

As to resignations. If someone resigns because a vote didn't go the way they felt it should, then soon there will be no one here to vote.

@bill: you still accuse ppl of things. please stop. except maybe rain nobody resigned for this reason, and even rain had other reasons adding to her dissatisfaction with the game.
the others definitely resigned for other reasons. you can continue to push on pi6 topic or finally stop this an come to a better way of discussing things.

disorganizer, I was merely directly responding to the position given by Strider, it was he who brought it up as part of his justification for this committee.

I don't understand why you wish to silence me on the issue. Am I to be not allowed to respond in this forum to anyone else who brings up the topic?

This is one of the reasons I'm against giving citizens more power. We wont be able to get anything done because of the time it will take to decide upon it.

One of the points is to give the mods less to do. So far I've seen alot of people say "Maybe a job for the mods." We act like Grey Fox and DOM can do everything. I bet both of them do have social lives ad aren't centered around the operation of the demogame.

If it's withen your power to do. Get off your lazy butt and do it. Give the Mods a break. Not directed at any certain person by the way

I do apologize if I misunderstood your post where it says:

I assumed the resignation issue is one which was a justification for your idea, and I did respond to that. I welcome your clarification on the issue....and no...this isn't an accusation!

To get to the topic at hand though, I think some of these functions which you advocate may well fall under the jurisdiction of the Mods (who will be unlikely to give up that control, and rightly so) or the Judicial branch in the revisised constitution being drafted.

I am curious as to if you have reviewed that document and what your thoughts might be on that?

Maybe the new constitutional proposal does part of this.
There is a kind of "jurisdiction" implemented to watch things. Maybe also post a link there to this discussion. I think it could work, as long as those positions are elected (but ... werent there 5 some time before?).

I wonder if this suggestion would work in practice... the advantage of these functions being the preserve of the Mods is that they're NOT the subject of the democratic process in any way and are impervious to angry mobs in the way that a council of citizens would not be. In addition to this they have the muscle to enforce their decisions should it ever come to that point, so people have no choice but to pay attention to their rulings.

I actually do like this idea, mind... it's just that I think I prefer the idea of a Judiciary backed up by the Mods.

Bill:I did read the new constitoution(although I have not read all of the posts in that thread, because I was gone) I have ot seen anything about the judicial branch Keeping the peace and also being in charge of bring more people to the demogame. Another option they can have is bringing people back to the demogame.

Well, 1 term ago we tried to start it, but it was burried under off-topic posts ;-)

Maybe a press-secretary. This position would be APPOINTED by the president. The secretary writes the chat-summaries and gives articles to TF to post in the CFC news (he said he would do this!). This position would also be responsible for propaganda in and outside of cfc to attract people and maybe gain back ppl we lost.

Here's a new proposal:

1. The four are seprated into 3 groups. Citizen mangers, content manger, and constitoution manager.


2.The citizen mangers are the two citizens who are voted in by the citizens. These two are in charge of bring people back to the demogame and also getting new people to the demogame. (These two can also be the press-secretary). They are the citizen manger. They are nominated and voted in by the citizens. Optional: The can be nominated by the citizens and opointed by the president.

2. The content manger is the department leader. He is nominated by the citizens and voted in by a council-vote. He is in charge of making sure discussions don't go too far and also imforming the mods of possible trouble (keeper of the peace).

3. The constitoution keeper is in charge of making new constitoution rules(SHAITAN!!!!!) He must be an honored citizen and is nominated and voted in by the citizens.
