HI,
I have a system running windowsXP SP2 a 1.8 processor (slow I know but at the top of the spec requirements)
1 gig of ram and 520 somthing mb ati rad graphics card.

I never had any issues with lag when running Civ IV or Warlords apart from the opening movies during gameloading with Warlords, I just used to bypass it by using the escape key.

Now I have BTS installed as well plus all the incremental patches for each game, installed in the right order and in the right folders. Everything is cool except when a movie is played in game following a wonder build completion or special event, It's just really choppy and laggy and takes forever to play.
I have all the latest drivers installed for sound and video and directX is the latest version plus netframework is installed.
Why are the movies so laggy, can anyone tell me, is it me my PC or the game??

sorry for the length of this post:)

Setting the frame rate sounds like a good idea i'll try that thanks, also
yes, I am strongly considering switching the movies off, but let's face it, they were one of the many perks gained in completing a wonder and I'll be sad to lose them.

cheers guys!

Hey Guys I found the problem, How silly it was too, and I have spoken to the tech guys at take 2 interactive who confirmed it.
Even though my PC Spec is at the top end of the requirements the default graphics display setting is 'medium' I had it set to 'high' with antialiasing set to '4'. apparently antialiasing is the culprit, as it puts such a drain on the system that all the movies will slow up and sometimes crash.
The solution was to leave the default setting on the graphics tab and also turn antialiasing to 2 or even 0.
Simple but an easy mistake to make if you think your PC is powerful enough to have everything tweeked to the max!

Cheers guys,
Bjazz
