My neighbourghs

Ok, second attempt on Monarch, first didnt go so well (got Vulture rushed by gilgamesh).

Now, these neighbourghs will make things.. say.. intressting dont you think? (im ramesses)

That'll be intresting, at the very least (I'm a Warlord player, so I don't know how Monarch plays...)

I think all games are rather interesting no matter who I have near me @ start. Rush Monty quickly and I'd keep an eye on Napoleon. In my games, he tends to have low scores and high power ratings. Usually one of the largest armies every time. Why not convert to taoism to join ranks with Boudica?

Didnt go so well. My problem was that I couldnt expand too fast so I decided to dow my closest/weakest neighbourgh (Willem), soon after tho Monty dow me.

Add to that, Just and Bismarck from another island (both buddhists and quite annoyed with me) dow me aswell. Bismarck took my unitproducing city while I was fighting to the south. Then it was pretty much game over.

that's monty for ya. always stirring up trouble. and often he's not enough to be a problem, but he can sure be a distraction from the other wars!

@Alvan, shoulda gone for Monty first. He usually DOW without even having a sufficient army to defeat you. Sometimes, he's quite powerful, but in most of my games, he is to the bottom of the score chart, and only by mid-game is he really powerful. Early game, I'm usually able to steamroll him.

Willem would be a good tech trading partner unless his borders were the one encroaching on your area.
