My next (massive as always) scenario ((POLL))

It is not strange for historians to say we won the Cold War. The Soviet Union collapsed. Essentially this is the reverse. The USA collapsed instead. Saying that the USA lost (or, in real life... won) the cold war generally gives an idea of what's going on... even if on a technical level it may be fuzzy.
 
Ok, Conquests will make this scenario possible. I'm going to use Locked Alliances to set the Soviet sphere, Chinese Sphere, and the Anti-Communist League. That'll make the scenario perfect... so you don't have a Soviet-American alliance, a USE-USER alliance, etc...
 
There will be for main spheres. The Soviet Sphere, The Chinese Sphere, the Anti-Communist League, and the Nuetrals. There will also be independents. The Nuetrals are basically nuetral in the three way conflict between the two commie powers, and the anti-commie powers, but are banded together for mutual protection. I will used locked alliances to create these spheres,.

I'm still placing the last of the civs, primarily the SA civs.

I just need to get a map of the pacific so I can assign the islands.



Japan will have rebuilt it's military, and will be anti-communist. It can no longer rely on the USA as its military splintered.... plus the American west coast is allied with China. So Japan wil have rebuilt, and joined the anti-communist alliance for that "Go to war with me, then go to war with them to." deal.
 
I bought Conquests on Amazon with the free extra cd! I used the free shipping, so it will probably be a week. Then the final phase of production will begin.
 
Using the Conquests editor I have made the GULAG!

It is a building that produces a 'Gulag' worker every 10 turns. If I decide to make it a normal improvement (requiring Soviet Communism) It'll be 10 or higher turns in wait with a high maintence cost. IF I make it a Wonder or Small Wonder requiring Soviet Communism, I will make it probably 3 to 5 turns wait.


I will make a similar building.wonder for China (and/or Maoist states) called "Forced Labor Camps" that produce "Piolitical Prisoner". This should become interesting! To bad I have to have the "Join City" flag on to get the AI to use them properly. :-/

Oh well!

I also have four Alliances: Soviet Sphere, Chinese Sphere, Anti-Communist League, and Nuetral Alliance. A few nations remain independent, but there are only 4 independents.

I'm looking at setting in 2001. About a decade and a half to two decades after America's collapse to allow the dust to settle, and some immediate aftermath effects to take place... and to allow the new nations featured in the scenario to 'get thier act together' and finally setting up thier repective governments, borders, etc. Also to allow political effects that are harder to represent to take place (such as the various alliances, some stuff I've done with Cuba),

I've decided on a name for this scenario due to the time I decided for it to take place. The scenario shall be titled 'Red Millenium' or something similar to that.

I have had to backtrack a bit, but not to much... this is in order to make better use of the Conquests enhancements.

For the Gulag, I'm going to make a non-tradable Era NONE tech called "Soviet Trait", to ensure they are the only ones with the Gulags. The Gulags will also cause unhappiness, but will also have other nice effects such as boosting production, and reducing pollution (having prisoners clean it up, etc)...

Also to prevent government switching... I'm going to do the same thing with each gov, basically Sov Sphere civs will get "Soviet Communism", and Democarcies get 'Democratic gov", etc... to lock in the governments.

the non-tradeable Era NONE tech options will make things easier to work. I LOVE this new editor.

Here's a screenie of the broken up United States. Sadly, I'd be in the People's Republic of Madison... *sighs*... and I'm at a University. :lol: Go figure, huh?

You can also see the Texas Republic, People's Republic of America, and the remaining USA. PRoM is Soviet Sphere, PRoA is Chinese Sphere, Texas is part of the Nuetral Alliance, and the USA is part of the Anti-Communist League.

Here's part of Cuba... they have invaded Venezuela and those llittle territories east of Venezuela (I can never remember what they are called). Also notice the units in Cuba. :D

Bulk of the work is unit placement. That won't take to long. Then I have to write the Civilopedia. At that point this scenario will basically go Beta. After testing it, and a few more tweaks... I will be done. So, assuming I can put off playing Conquests enough... you should expect to see if by Thanksgiving. What is the genesis behind my creationg? Sugar! That's why it got added to Conquests! ;)

Conquests really plays into my hands for scenario designs. You know what the really, really, really sweet thing is? I'm in college and have access to all the maps I need, all the texts I need, et... after you've taken care of the studying, classes, sleeping, and staying clean, you are literally (that phrase is also literal) in a scenario making heaven! Plus, I'm on really good terms with the Social Sciences department, so I have people I can talk to! CRY HAVOC LET SLIP THE DOGS OF SCENARIOS! Ok, now you know I'm loonier then Bugs Bunny. (And there was much rejoycing)
 
Europe is four nations (unless you count Russia). England, Scandinavian Socialist Republics, United States of Europe (USE is West Europe), and United Socialist European Republics (USER is East Europe).

Ireland is part of England, partially because Ireland realizes the benefits to thier defense... mainly because of the fear of the Soviets, Scandinavians, and Western Europeans being allied together.

West Germany reunited with East Germany, in an opposite fashion. So there is no East-West Germany... and they're both part of USER.

Denmark is part of Scandinavia, as is Iceland

I'm basically making the borders between both mainland European nations a DMZ like in Korea, with bunkers and barricades... should make it interesting. God, I love Conquests editor.

Russia also succesfully invaded Afghanistan. Iran took over the Middle East except for Israel, Turkey, and Pakistan.
