I just got Conquests expansion about 10 days ago, and after quite a few games, I decided I don't have time for so much fun and better go for a HOF game. (I was playing my own awesome new self-created civilization (indus religious like it always was) scenarios and Marla's world map!)
First, I don't know how MapFinder works. I got it but I didn't use it. So if MoonSinger is around...
Anyways, before this game, before Conquests, I had a German Monarch game going but it got deleted. Then just this year I had an Egyptian Deity game in which I had about 60 cavs, 60 spearman, 30 swordsman, and over 100 horsemen and war chariots at 800 AD after conquering my island (big empires of India and Russia) on a pangeaa map. Getrting 1000+ gold per turn so I could've upgraded all my units by now but I spend like 8000 or more on failed technology steals. =( Nevertheless, I'm still caught up in technology in as I'm in the industrial ages. lol, It was funny because I conquered all of Russia with War Chariots, Horsemen, and Swordsmen when they had Pikes, Longbowmen, Knights and Musketmen too. Took about 50 units per city but it got easy afterwards. They were on the other side of the world too, so I could only use about 50-70 of the hundreds I had. I still have this game - which is getting sec to cross the big ocean to conquer Babylon, but have stopped playing it - maybe I will later just to try to get some SUCCESSFUL milking exprience before finishing my Conquests Sid game.
And... so I spent a lot of time trying to get a game. First, I tried the Iroquois, played a couple times, but not well, I gave up. Then I tried the Japanese I think. Failed to get a good starting location. Then I played the Egyptians, but I never got any horses in my mutiple attempts!! Finally I went back to the Iroquois and started playing again.
Pretty good so far... I'm posting it here in HOF forum mainly for help, but also so for someone to check to see if my game is valid or not. I can't trust my own discretion, so there's my 1000BC saved game on the bottom if some mod or anybody would like to see it.
Here's the statistics:
Me: 18 Cities, no wonders, 24 workers, 18 warriors (all for happiness), and all ancient techs except for the two governements. Btw, on my 7th turn of sending 38 gpt to the Byzantines for currency.
Incas: 27 cities, all ancient techs except Codes of Law, Monarchy, and The Republic.
Zulus: 29 cities, all ancient techs except the two governments. Fought a war with the Koreans so they are not as strong as they would have been.
Portugese: 17 cities, same tech stage as above.
Byzantines: 21 cities, Feudalism and monarchy, no Republic, 2098 gold in treasury.
England: 25 cities, same tech stage as Zulus.
Spanish: 28 cities, same tech stage as Byzantines.
Koreans: 24 cities, Feudalism, no government techs. Fought with Zulus and so are not as strong as they would've been.
I do not know about the Russians...
