why don't we get a team going, we could use Grey Foxs mod as a strat.I can add units, city imporments, encyclopedia entries, and graphics. But I can't add techs. so I could be useful.

Wow, I just read your first post, and I'm shocked by the similarities of our idea.

The biggest difference I see is that I plan to make mine for PTW. But I could make mine for Civ3 aswell. (If there is a demand)

Ive had a go at some graphics using 3d max. For the units in my mod, im thinking of Frigate / Destroyer / Cruiser / Battleship / Titan class ships, none of which ever go fully obsolete (all are useful in some way)...

This is supposed to be some kind of early space frigate. Ive done a basic direction-only flic with this.

Heres my 'roads'. Ive done each road square as an individual little satellite type thing, so a road becomes a line of satelites... what do you think???

I was thinking Corvette / Frigate / Destroyer / Light Cruiser / Cruiser

And then multiple types of specialities on these sizes of ships. Because that is what it is, sizes (like in Master of Orion).

The specialities can be Exploration, Defense, Fighter Carrier, Attack, Bombard, etc.
