Welcome, ladies and gentleman, to the next episode of name that city. Prizes include increasing your post count, improving team activity, and helping SANCTA win the forum spam league.

First up, here is the city site:

It should be settled on t95 (in 3 turns).

Imperial gold sounds good to me. But bannaopolis is cool if not just for the fact that there is no bannanas there... ;)

You always need an abstain option ;)

Are you putting the Maoi in here? There doesn't seem to be much food to go around.

Edit: Oh, its a poll. Guess I missed the option of suggesting a name.

I like Ruff's suggestion of Golden Sands - I would have suggested Golden Beach, but I'm using that myself in a Pitboss game.

Originally we decided to follow a tea theme for the city names, and so far all of them have been named after tea plantations (save Copper Kettle).

This thread contains a list of city names which is by no means exhaustive, but as I've found out Google is your friend :).

That said, we aren't naming cities after tea plantations, it's just a theme; the english names for tea plantations is a corruption of the chinese versions. I personally vote for an interesting name that has a unique set of initials (IS, CK, FC, JD, OO being taken for instance).

On the topic of Moai, there is a small desert with 2 hills between that city and the capital that, if it has seafood, might be a better moai site; if so it'd come down to a choice between the desert city and this one. Otherwise this city is the best moai site and will probably get it after a granary and lighthouse.

I'd expect Cav to be over 7500 by now, Kaz about equal, maybe a bit behind. This forum hasn't been that active since we got the Oracle.

Now, if people would actually post about possible city locations, MM and what not I'm sure we could overtake Cav by August; When turn 102 finishes there's going to be alot of work to do.

sure - why not, it has its own little federal reserve gold supply 1 tile south. And it will not get into any auto problems for a number of years.

We're one of the big three, and we're too big to fail damnit! :mischief:

Slightly OT: I just checked and realised I actually voted for a name, when I meant to abstain, so -1 from the IG name.

The initials could also stand for Great Merchant. :)
