Naming Settlers

    This is completely cosmetic and absurd, but if you are interested, here are some names of city founders you can give to your settlers and then name the cities once they are built.

    Springfield -- the cromulent Josiah Springfield, whose tradition embiggens us all

    I disagree with Washington for the District of Columbia, as he didn't actually "settle" the city but rather designated its location (a swampy, undeveloped region on the Potomac River). I propose instead the city's designer, Pierre L'Enfant, or possibly surveyor Benjamin Banneker.
