Napoleonic Europe [Scenario]

I have now gotten unique national flags working; on my computer at least.
Check out the screenshots on the download page to see a few of them.
I havn't uploaded any version with them yet, but I'm sure I will sometime soon.

What do you think of my new Main Menu Screen?

Sweet.
But how about a more...universal style for the background?
Something like this (it's just supposed to be an example, but I don't like the low resolution of the Battle of the Pyramids painting ;) ):

P.S.: I noticed another spelling mistake: It's "Straßburg" or "Strasbourg" (depending on whether you prefer the German or the French name), but it's surely not "Strausburg" (which, in German, means "Ostrich Castle" :D )

Well, with the new custom flags, we have some white flag issues.
I have uploaded a fix in the first post.
Only apply the patch if you are having white flag issues.

Transparency.

Flags for newer cards need the alpha channel set to all transparent.
See the flags in my white flag fix for this.

Flags for older cards (such as the one i get to build my mod on) require the alpha channel set to all opaque.
See the flags in my scenario files for this.

Which looks better, 12 or 8 man formations? (Or do you hate them both?)

The more the merrier?
What about this 64-man double-square formation?
Or is that a little too merry?

When they go into combat they will be in the line formation (2*6)
The square is used for fortify, sentry, sleep, and heal.
I plan to look into a column formation (4*3) for moving / idle but I may stick With the line formation for this as well.

The hugh guy is a warlord attached to the unit. I will be scaling him down to whatever size I end up using as well.

24 would work very well mathmatically.
24 can form a perfect infantry square, double square and 4 different line formations. (see attached diagram)
But I don't think many computers could run that at all. It would have 8 times the unit graphics of the regular 3 unit set. And since one of my design plans was to try to make this acessable to as many users as I can I wouldn't want to use it.

Also, adding more figures on one tile could make the figures smaller. I think it would become too hard to tell what types of enemys are around if they were that tiny.

24 man units sound more appropriate for Paasky's mod, as the map he has used makes my computer flounder already.

I plan to make a Performance Addon into mine, which will have the white flag fix & normal unit sizes. Maybe even a smaller map.

But 24 shold be enough :) I wonder, are you making these by text + trial&error, or do you have some program to help you?

I'm making these in notepad. And I'm using Excel to calculate the locations and directions of the figures, as well as estimating the appropriate scale.

I would hope I'd have already made it in there with all of the unit art you have 'appropriated'. :D

Here is a screenshot of the 12 man formations I am developing:
I havn't given proper attention yet to the rifleman (skirmisher units) or cavalry.
