There is currently no ingame documentation of which heroes belong to which civilizations/religions. Some are obvious (like the religious heroes that are unlocked by the religious techs), but others are less so. It makes it very hard to decide on what technologies to beeline when playing new civs if it is unclear where in the tech tree their hero is unlocked.

Here are some places where it would be nice to see a comment on who the hero belongs to.

Civilipedia entries:
Under the description of each hero (i.e. National hero for Amurites or Religious Hero for Fall of the Leaves).
Under the civilization entries (listed as unique units or a separate hero entry if possible).
Under the religion entries (same as civilizations).

Mouse overs would be nice in the technology screen, unit icons, and other appropriate areas.

I certainly wouldnt say that there isnt any ingame documentation of civ/religous heroes.

Religious heroes are all listed in the religious pedia entry. Civ heroes are all listed in the mouseover for the leaders. You can also view the civ heroes in the tech tree, which will only show ones for your civ.

Not to say that we couldnt put it in more places. But it is documented, and we certainly need to get better at it.

In the Black Tower scenario, it shows all the national heroes for available civs, but I could only build the Lunan hero. I wasted time researching techs for the other heroes which were displayed on the tech tree and did not have a line saying: "Unique unit for Bannor" which would have made it easier to understand why they were not available.

I checked the civilopedia under Civilizations and Heroes and found no information about which heroes were for which civs.

The pedia should be brought up to date. I think there is still outdated stuff from pre-shadow times. For example: meteor, summoning/sorcery split...
