Natural wonders

Not everyone is a min-maxer playing the same way as everyone else, that is something to keep in mind.

That and I really like Commerce...

And don't forget Aesthetics, which is one of the best policies in the game.

Permanent friendship with every CS in the game? Yes please.

Meh. Early culture/turn is really not that useful because you will overshoot and get a 7th policy before renaissance.

In G&K, completing first tree + 2 filler polices before renaissance is great.
(Free friendship with every city state on the map; massive free cultural, religion, food in the capital and happiness)

I don't normally worry much about natural wonders. But this game I was a bit annoyed about the placement of this special wonder...

Easy! Settle on the coast for the deer, fish and crab and buy tiles to FoY.

Of course, it'll still be the crappiest of cities ....

I just played a "tilted axis" map. It wasn't until I got satellites that I discovered both El Dorado and the Fountain of Youth --- in the far north, on a land mass that was completely blocked from access to any units by ice. (Well, I didn't try, but I suppose I could have gotten to them with helicopters.)
