NEB1: One Thousand and One Ways to Die

From Deep Blue
To Nationalists, COBRA

With Vertinari's permission, I propose to cease attacks on E8 and turn over my forces to him in exchange for peace with COBRA.

followed by a surprise two-pronged attack by legions of Red Light Tanks, in the classic style of Matt0088.

There isn't much esle to do there.:p

"We are making once last diplomatic effort for peace before all is consumed in war. We are watching developments in Soldia and trying to learn more about these 'Aliens'.

We remind you that B1 is to be a safe-haven for all refugees, and we will protect it against any armed intrusion. Otherwise, for now, we have no intention of fighting with Soldian factions.

We can assure you that all land not under hostile control will be safe from the alien, as their peace with SEF and LEF shows.
IMPORTANT: from this point on, you cannot spend money you don't already have it your 'account', ever. What it says at the bottom of the map is all you have to spend. If other players want to give you $$$, it has to get from their base to yours, via supply truck, and so there will be at least one turn's delay. So, anyone trying to spend money they don't have will fail and get nothing. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED :)

What if the other player doesn't have a base? I mean Terrish is just floating around knocking the crap out of Orange HQ.:D

IMPORTANT: infantry will help with assaults on enemy HQ's, and buildings in general. Tanks and vehicles alone will not be so good.

:p Why?

IMPORTANT: The alien money-producing 'buildings' (Matt0088 may know more about them) can be captured by others, but will randomly 'die' and disintegrate if not under Red control (or whoever the 'alien monstrosity' is allied to).

:mischief:

ALSO, I detect a slight loss of interest from certain players. I've lost some interest too, but on the plus side it means I'm not adding so much new stuff each turn.

I'm still interested.:)

OPTION A: Continue indefinitely!

I vote this one!:)

@Thlayli, I went ahead and NPC'ed your dudes, sensibly I hope. I believe you have contributed greatly to this and as such there will not be abstract penalties for not sending orders :)

Will I get the same if I happen not to send orders?

@Thlayli, saving up for a nuke are you?:p

Actually, yes. It remains to be seen who I'll use it on.

You have made your point. While you have evicted our forces from I3, is it TRULY in the interest of humanity to distract our forces from fighting the alien monstrosity intent on killing us all?

If you are willing to withdraw from your positions, we will provide 5$ in phased reconstruction funds for any collateral damage caused by COBRA weaponry on the civilian populace, paid over time. We will also CONSIDER some democratic reforms after the reconstruction of Soldia is completed.

We will permit the LEF to maintain their headquarters as a forward observation area, to ensure that COBRA soldiers respect the rights of the Soldian people. This is an agreement of restraint and compromise. We hope that you agree.

If you do not, we will be forced to use atomic weapons in pursuit of victory. Do not be responsible for their use.

Well, Matt, can a tank drive up into a apartment to clear it of possible snipers? How about large underground bunkers? constricted valleys? You need infantry to flush them out, to take in close combat, and to patrol.

I sound like a very experianced NESer! I am being assimilated! Also, can I rejoin?

I am between continuing indefinitely or capping the length at 10 more turns...which would allow NEB2 to be brought up. I am just afraid that a non-capped game would eventually lead to no more excitement (nuclear explosion, aliens, etc)...but I think I could do something to make stuff exciting again. :p

I was solely talking about Orange HQ.:p I know that even though light tanks are awesome in every possible way, they can't do alot of things.

Your always welcome at Red, plenty of light tanks to command and more on the way!:D

but I think I could do something to make stuff exciting again. :p

If your talking about one thing, then yes, please do so!:goodjob:
If your talking about another thing, then don't we have a agreement against that?:crazyeye:

PM's sent! New update version with better text and new picture!

About Nuclear Weapons: I'd honestly forgot I put those in the rules! In retrospect the 5x5 radius seems too big! You can expect the 'extreme' damage to be limited to a 3x3 area, with the outer ring suffering the equivalent of artillery strikes in each square.

Well technically he shares your HQ, and could build new untis there etc if you give him the $!

Yes indeed!

You're technically still in the game, its just your hero/leader unit (the flakkers) died in a COBRA attack. You can switch your leader to another unit (I think you have some Troopers left) and maybe Matt0088 can give you some of Red's money for making new things :)

PROTEST: How does COBRA have 5 units in H4!?

Originally I think the limit was 2 vehicles + 2 troopers per square. With the bigger map, I think I put it up to 3 vehicles and 4 troopers. I might have forgotten to say that :(

This changes so much!!!!

Also, can the units section of the first page be edited?

It is the firm position of the LEF and the Lenierde Republic that until further information and evidence is received about the so-called "alien menace", it is nothing more than simply one of many unfortunate rumors which arise from the conditions of war.

It is a wonderful that the COBRA and her affiliated factions may consider democratic reforms reforms, however, the LEF is unwilling to wager upon the future promises of COBRA and her affiliated factions. In addition, it must be said that COBRA and her affiliated factions' offer to provide funds to compensate collateral damage is certainly noble.

As such, the LEF is willing to propose a two-turn ceasefire between the LEF and COBRA and her affiliated factions until further information has arrived. The LEF is willing to withdraw her forces from the port facilities at I3. We are happy that COBRA and her affiliated factions have decided to offer the LEF the chance to remain at our headquarters at J2, however, we insist that the LEF also be allowed to remain at J3 in order to prevent any unexpected assaults upon our headquarters by COBRA's allies.

COBRA and her affiliated factions' threat to detonate a nuclear atomic device in the pursuit of victory is not at all the actions of a legitimate government, as claimed by COBRA and her affiliated factions.

The Republic of Lenierde and her people stand behind the efforts of LEF General Alexander, to secure a peace fit for the brave Soldian people!

I'm not sure what you mean exactly, but I can/have edited it with new units and stats and stuff. I don't think I've updated the example unit list/picture thing but I could to that.

The pictures haven't been edited and some errors in spelling and bolding has been there for a while. I didn't care (still don't really), but it would be nice if it were fixed.

Hmm, I've just fixed some bolding errors. I will have a look for 'spelnig' errors when im not so tired.

The front page tends to be a low priority for me in my NES moding efforts (DaftNES2 may be an exception). I get the feeling noone looks at it, especially for something like this, except maybe to see the list of links to the updates :)

i look every update to find unit cost

The major error that stares me in the face is that you have two Airfield stats...one that spawns air units...the other spawning naval units.

I did look at it alot, but now I've memorized everything from reading it so much.

Thanks for staying with this madness for 15 turns :salute:
Sure, that's what makes it fun! This is one of the first TBSish games I've ever played with invading aliens, squirl-worshipers, kangoraptors, giant squids, mystics, etc. and still not falling into complete chaos.

OPTION A: Continue indefinitely!
This one!

As do I. Well, when I have money. :(
