Hi all, after following Lemmy's thread whilst waiting for Civ V to be unlocked in Australia, I decided I shall make my own.

I have decided to play on the map of earth on a HUGE scale, with difficulty at Prince and 20 other AI players ( :O ). Here is the starting location... I wonder where it is...

Hmm, at least I can make IVORY CANES and you know all that stuff :S Let's see how it pans out...

EDIT:

RUINATION! Which contained culture. I found culture in ruins... I'm slightly confused...

Anyway I've chosen to go down the liberty tree first!

and finally, yes I am sort of near Morocco... I can spot the rock of Gibraltar!

So I'm connected to the majority of the world thanks to Africa. I am intrigued for sure.

Well I have successfully explored the African continent over the course of 100 turns, and have discovered the continent is inhabited by the Chinese, the Greeks, the Japanese and the Arabs. I have also been introduced to the English and Germans to the north as they said "hi" whilst waving across the Mediterranean. I'm assured this was fairly common practice throughout history :S

I established exactly where I was pretty early thanks to this...

Cape town in the middle east? Next minute we'll be seeing Kyoto where Cape Town should be!!!

Oh...

I've just founded my second city as a rather tactical move, and placed it to block access to and from the middle east (teehee). Let's hope this doesn't get me into strife in the future!

Other than that I've just been fighting barbarians, and been insulted my Alexander multiple times. I think he'll be on the list of people to plunder in position 1......

Any thoughts on what sort of victory I should go for? I still don't have much of an idea, but there's a few tiles of marble to the south...

Come on people I need feed back to keep up the motivation (considering it's a MARATHON game and all :) )

I did not thought that the map was so big in Huge mode! :)

It is VERY big, which is actually a lot more fun. My computer isn't exactly handling it well though..

Also I keep geeting foreign leaders asking me to go to war with England, which is rather amusing as she's nowhere to be found for me at the moment. I did however free some "slaves" from a barbarian encampment.

BAHAHA I shall keep them for myself and learn the secret of Afternoon Tea!!!!

You had a great start! I got stuck in Alberta, Canada.

Also, Alexander is a jerk. He loves randomly insulting me even though my military could curbstomp his without so much as a challenge. By the way, if you ever want a pretty cool 2D map with political borders, just open strategic view and turn on the political map overlay. Its great for screenshots. ;)

I lke this thread :) How are you going to deal with City-States? You could by the loyalty of Capetown and increase you cities growth. How much does CS-bribing cost on Marathon?

Looking forward to see the new screenshots! :)
