I want to make a 18 civ map I customized capable of holding all the 34 BTS civs. I have not the slightest clue how to do that. Tried to find a 34 civ download and there is none I like. Im not good with technical computer stuff. If some one knows to this please tell how to send you my map or whatever and make it compatible with 34 civs. I just want to add the extra BTS civs on my map through the world builder. I don't want the map changed. I have been trying a long time to accomplish this and have failed trying to do this on my own.

What you need is a replacement Game Core DLL file. There is nothing that can or needs to be done with your actual map to enable more players.

Download such a file (I have no link for you) or use one from a mod/scenario that adds more players - but doesn't change any other game rules.

The tricky bit will probably be that you need to make your own mod for this, unless you wanna replace the original file. And I doubt you want to.

Ok. I tried that same tutorial a couple of months ago and was unsuccessful, but like I said, Im not good with technical computer stuff so It's very possible I did something wrong. It took me forever just to get where I did and all that I could realize was that before you started the game, there there was an extra slot where I could add another civ but it would not let me click on it. I didnt fill in any of the names of civs. I had no clue really what I was doing so I dont know where I went wrong.

Yeah, I probably should have. I kinda gave up on it for a while and now just starting on it again. Ok, so after I copy and paste the desired amount of civs i want, do I have to fill in the civ name, leader, color, technologies etc in the new entries? last time when I just copied stuff from the spoiler and went to start the scenario there was a 19th slot where I could add another civ but it would not let me click on it.

There were the eighteen preset civs from the earth 18civ scenario and I added sixteen more slots so I could have bts civs in the map as well.

I guess i did not spell it really clearly enough out in the tutorial (will have to change it): The number of MAX. civs on a map is not the same number as the REAL number of civs on the map.
The tutorial uses a .dll file with 50 civs. That means, you have to put in the file the 50 civ entries, these are the max. civs, and this number has to be there, no matter with how many civs you want to play the game. That there are 50 entries does not have to mean anything for your game, you could also start the game with only 2 civs.
But the 50 entries have to be there, because the .dll expects 50 entries.
Put the 50 entries there, and start a game via "custom scenario", and just choose 34 civs to start with ;).

Hmmmmm, it did the same thing it did to me last time. This time, I replaced all the slots with the ones in the spoiler including the preset ones. I successfully loaded the mod so everything is in the right folders. I went to custom scenario and I could still only pick from the original 18 civs. Then when I went to the next stage, there were the 18 civs and an open slot for a 19th civ but I could not select or change any of the slots. Then I'm also confused as to why those 18 civs are still there when I replaced them with blank slots in the word pad.

Instead of using the Quick Reply field at the bottom of this screen, you either click on Reply or Go Advanced. In there is a Additional Options section including a Manage Attachments button. Once you press that... you're on your own. :D Note that you need to compress the WBS file in order to make it a valid file type (just zip it), before you can actually attach it. :p

Crap, there are already preset cities on the map, including barbarian ones, which is really a problem.
Just removing these cities does not work, because in normal cases these civs are then considered dead (at least temporary), and you'll then get the notice "you've been defeated" directly after game start.

Is it a map which you made yourself, or did you get it from somewhere here?

Well, it was originally the earth 18 civ scenario map with only the original civs on it. I have adjusted it quite a bit to make as even as possible for all nations and then gave the barbarians Australia and some technologies to make them more of a threat. It's actually a really fun map. If you play it right you could probably win playing as anyone. But yeah, this is a map that I have customized from the Earth 18 civ scenario from the original version of civ.

If I have to, I could start over using the 18 civ scenario without preseting any cities or anything because originally the scenario starts you with settlers and warrior or scout. I just didn't like where some of the computers built their cities and I didn't what to give those computers a one turn head start so I did it to everyone. I'd have to spend a lot of time making all the adjustments I did again but It would be worth it.
