Need Help! Router Configuration

I just moved into a new apartment and I can't seem to access my router configuration panel by entering 192.168.1.1 in the IE address bar as I should be able to. I keep getting a "cannot find server" error message. Does this mean I am typing in the wrong IP address, or is there some security that I can't get through? Please help!

Hmm, isn't it normally 192.168.0.1?

It totally depends on your routers configuration. I would suggest checking the website of your routers manufacturer and looking for the IP address there.

plus, your PC should be in the same network as the router, so if the router-ip is 192.168.1.1 you should have an IP betweekn 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.254 (if you have a 255.255.255.0 Subnet)
