Ok, I think that I'm finally ready to start learning with Bryce. The problem is I can't make heads or tails of a lot of it. I've watched Wyrmshadow's tutorials several times, but I'm still unsure of a few things. I'm requesting help from someone that has the time and patience to work with a noob in order to learn this program. I'll only need to be shown this once. After that I can manage.

Ok, first off I don't have anything in my materials library. I've downloaded a few things from renderosity.com, but I'm not sure how exactly to load them. What I can do is set the camera and everything like Wyrmshadow shows in his tutorial, and I can import objects, mainly that K1 that I built, but I don't know what to do after that. There is so much that I don't know how to do that I can't really name it off. If anyone wants to help me with my problem just send me a PM and let me know.

No one can really explain the workings of a 3d program in a single message. Can YOU explain Blender to someone with a letter?

Look for Hikaro's tutorials on how to use it. Other than that, PLAY WITH IT!!

It's so simple to use, don't be afraid to mess around with a few things. Add some shapes, arrange them.. make them move around. Get the hang of things. You need to learn how to crawl before you can run.

Missing Materials:
Did you download the presets? If you have nothing in your material library, you need to DL that. It is free. Just close Bryce, copy the files in place (or use the installer if there is one).

Once you get Bryce so it works, begin by just poking it a bit. Hikaro's tutorial is a good place to begin. It won't get you all the way, but it should give you enough insight so you can figure out what questions to ask next.

Bryce is the simplest, easiest 3d program you will ever use. But, it will not feel like this until you have played around with it for a few weeks.

so recap:
step 1: get the rest of Bryce 5.5
step 2: follow Hikaro's tutorial step by step. If it doesn't make sense, you can always ask.

Don't worry, you can get all the help you need. You can get the same blank scene (with the cameras already set, etc) that we all use.

That's a good point. Sometimes I get impatient and I think that I should automatically be able to do the same things that someone that has been doing this for a long time does. I'll look into those tutorials and start playing around with them since I can't play civ III for a while. Thanks guys.

OT... no, I decided to not follow the antics of those out-of-control so-called "role models" anymore. It's a shame that our society gives so much attention to scum.

This pretty much says it all

I like that one.

I totally agree with you topgun, but every once in a while i like to take a look, especially when one of those "role models" makes an ass of themselves like the "pop princess" tends to do. Guess I need to take a look so i can stay motivated to keep my 2 year old daughter from ending up that way when she's 16.
