need help with civ starting locations

hello guys...i just got civ 3 and was wondering whether you could choose to have the standard starting locations for civs in the premade worlds, like in civ2?

as in....in civ 2, i could start a game with one of the premade worlds (euro, world, meditt, etc) and have the civs' starting locations true to life as they were meant to be. the english would start in SE britain, the french and german in west euro, etc...

just wanna ask if there is the option to do the same in civ3, even with just the 2 supplied premade worlds?

Short answer: NO

Descriptive Answer: Scenarios not included in original release.

However, you should check out the mod/user created maps section of these forums. There has been lots of diligent volunteers in the community that have given much of their free time to create what you are looking for. Even some mods (modifications) that include new units, civilizations, and historic scenarios.

BTW, if you just got the game, definitely get the v1.16f patch, also available here in the forums.
