Ok, somehow I deleted my bookmarks, how do I get them back?

I do not know how, but i deleted my bookmarks, or put them to a different folder, or something, does anybody have any ideas as to how I can get them back? I have Mozilla, just regular, plain Mozilla . . .

Bookmarks are stored in an html file in your profile directory, so it's one of those things that if you delete, it's gone. From now on, remember to periodically backup your bookmark file :)

Where is this Profile Directory? Maybe they are still there, just . . . altered . . . slightly, like in a different folder.

C:\Documents and Settings\[XP User Name]\Application Data\Phoenix\Profiles\default\[some random folder name] *

You'll find your bookmarks in a html file called "bookmarks".

If it's anywhere, it's there.

Note: Application Data is a hidden folder. You may have to un-hide it.

Also, you may want to consider installing the extension Bookmark Backup.

Other way around. Netscape 7.1 (most recent version) is Mozilla 1.4 thinly veiled (1.7a is the most recent release).

Netscape has been based off Mozilla code since version 6 (November 14, 2000).

Though Mozilla was originally based off a Netscape open source release (Navigator code was scrapped early on). And was funded by Netscape/AOL for a period of time.

If you check the welcome message that came with NS4, NS3, NS2, NS1... they were all developed by the Mozilla team.

Mozilla was a name used within Netscape since the beginning. (Contraction for Mosaic-killer Godzilla)

Not to be confused with the Mozilla Organization or the current Mozilla Foundation.
