Need Some Serious Help

I really need some help from all the modders here at CivFanatics.

I put a lot of hard work into creating a scenario, but when I tried to play test it, I end up getting errors.
Such as:

LOAD ERROR
File Not Found
"Default.flc"
"c"
"av"

But they don't all come at once. I'll load the game one time and get one message, then I'll go back and load it again and get another message.

WTH! I have no idea what could be going wrong. I've modded a couple scenarios before, but never created one, so I'm totally stumped.

Any help that could be given would be truly appreciated.

Edit: Moderator, I know I posted this under Tech Support, but I didn't get any response, I really need some help and I'm hoping to get it here.

I *thought* I'd seen this thread before. ;) I'll leave it here for now. --Padma

This is on the primitive side insofar as advice goes, but it looks as though a unit you added is either (1) missing its DEFAULT.FLC file OR (2) the unit name for the DEFAULT.FLC is misspelled -- and this can be a matter literally of a space "character", so try going through all your non-vanilla units and see if that helps.

Good Luck,

Oz

Ozzy-
All units have default.flc, so that can't be it, but the name for the default might be misspelled. So I think that might be the problem. I'll go through and check that out.

I know, it's one of the weirdest things I've ever come across. It doesn't even tell me which file doesn't exist.

No, I didn't really mess with any of the unit flcs. Most of the units I have are Steph's units, along with some multi-units. Should I have??

You shouldn't mess around and renaming too much.
Doesn't the game give the search path in the error message, like:
"Can't find Art\Units\Archer\default.flc" or something like that?

Nope, and that's what's so screwy about it. I can't figure it out for the life of me. I'd really hate to scrap the scenario and start all over again.

Did you edit the civilopedia.txt and/or pediaicons.txt to match new units? I had this kind of error and it definetly was because I had wrong entries in those files. They all should be correct, including a chapter containing unit animations in the end of pediaicons.txt (this was the worst error-producing chapter to me!).

So if you have modified these text files, you should double-check. And if you haven't, get on with it! ;) And as Oz noted, check all the flcs that those errors are pointing at.

Okay, running through and checking everything now.
I created the units using the Unit Creation Wizzard from C3MT, so they all should have entries, but I will re-add all units just to make sure.
Thanks for the help you guys.
I'll keep you posted to let you know if I'm still getting those crazy errors.
