once when negotiating peace, i asked the french what their offer for peace would be. They responded that they would hand over rheims in exchange for peace. When i then clicked to finalise the deal they refused. trying again this occurred again. I closed the messenger window and then called him up again, this time he gave me rheims

no, it cleared up after that, i just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem

It was fixed in the patch, I think - you used to be able to get anything you wanted for peace.

I had a similar 'problem' with peace dealings: everytime I would ask someone for a tribute (usually technology) during peace negotiations, they would refuse at first. Then I would ask "what would make this deal work" at which point a it would be pointed out to me that only one person may give/receive during peace talks. Funny thing is, after that, the AI would offer my original deal to me, even if it was grossly unfair. ANyone else experience that?
