This one happened just a few minutes ago on a Monarch game. I wanted peace with JC, and look what were his conditions...



He demands a decent and well developed size 7 city !!!!

I've actually had them demand more than one city....and that was when I had already destroyed the army they sent to me.

Alexander and Caesar just have outlandish demands to end war. They dont really want the war to stop.

I had a similar experience.

I was locked in a war with KK, with most of the casualties on his side. He came to me, demanding money from me for peace, so I figured I could beat him up some more and he would lower his demands.

20 turns later I talked to him and offered peace but he wanted... Paris, capital of recently conquered France. After that was about 30 turns of a non-war before he finally gave up, and I paid him a measly 50 gold to end it.

I am more blown away by the fact that he has at least 11 cities where as you only have 2. I am not surprised he made such demands. Your power rating must be through the floor!

He has the right to considering his empire is larger. Give in or you're gone . you can always nuke him later anyway

As long as you have a city and as long as he is owning you then he wil ask for it. Expect a few more demads
(don't give it up)

If you rush what you have he will balk.

Be glad it's a computer player, if I had you down to two cities and sueing for peace . . . I'd honestly assume you were on your last leg and needed a moment to renew your defenses. The only way I'd accept the peace is if I also had need of a breather. Say to build more troops, upgrade and heal my current armies, or fight someone more threatening on my other border.

Even then I'd certainly ask for all your gold, a city, or any interesting technologies you might have that I was lacking.
