hi,

i have massive problems with my graphics as follows:
all cities, recources ... are red!

(see screenshot: )

it's not funny playing the game like this.

i allready installed the latest patch 1.52 and i also installed directx from the civ-dvd

my system data:
athlon xp 1400
256 mb ddr ram
geforce 6200 256mb

so long...
i hope anybody can help me.

Well, I found another 6200 card doing the same thing, http://forums.civfanatics.com/archive/index.php/t-133920.html. But it doesn't have any solution to the problem. It seems that adding more RAM will not help it either.

Are the driver up to date? Current nvidia drivers are 81.98.
Is the card getting enough power?

It just looks like somekind of strange overlay problem to me, so it might well be problem with the game code and the card. But I guess are there plenty of other people with 6200s that are just fine. If it didn't do it 'out-of-box' unpatched then it's down to the latest 1.52 patch and would post in the 'Bugs' forum. It should work fine with your spec.

Only 256 MB RAM ? This is normal. When I had 512 MB it was common. Now I have 1,5 GB and in modern era in XIX century after some tours I have black places on my map. But it is enough to open save game 3 times under row and it happens just the same. Sometimes all map is brown.

sorry for irregular english

first thanks for answering! :goodjob:

sorry, i made a mistake in the system description.
i have 512 mb of ram inside, not 256

the latest vga-driver are installed
i even tested the latest beta-drivers without any success so i changed back to the latest release drivers
power-supply should be strong enough

so perhaps any other ideas?

Hmm, try dropping the AGP speed from 8x to 4x. Double-check the nvidia setting for 'Video overlay' and 'Colour correction'. Maybe one of these settings has changed. Might be overheating but that would cause the whole display to go strange so this is unlikely.
