New alert function? Not working?

It worked for a while but broke again on the last patch.
 
I played a couple of games recently after not having touched it for a while, and I was really surprised how buggy and unpolished it still is, almost a year after release.

Actually they fixed a lot of the bugs, but then somehow unfixed them in the latest patch :DThe version before Indonesia/Khmer was actually working better, I think.
 
Actually, there is something odd going on. It seems to work only after the first turn you put it on alert.
 
It worked for me this past game for barbarian units and 'free city' units. Have tried it with rival civ units.
 
If they can't even code a basic alert function properly, I fear that AI will stay braindead stupid forever in Civ6.
