Can I continue with my current game if I install the latest version? Or do I have to start over? I'm using version (7-29-1) and noticing some bugs: 1. Purchase bonus didn't apply to my Pathfinder. 2. Game starts to go haywire if I reload too many times.

You'll have to start a new game.

7-29 is the date, -1 is the hotfix.
Usually you can continue your games with hotfixes (not always, though), but new betas with different dates means a new game.

I'd also recommend the current beta if you have a 64bit operating system. There are no big issues.
Also, try our map script. We'd like more feedback, if possible. Link's in my signature.

I've started about 5 games with the 3-15 beta, and I don't like the Pangaea manuscript. I didn't comment before because I didn't know it was new. I've had maps with 30 tile struts where MajorCivs have started, and CS on islands. I'd rather have an oval shape with everyone fighting for the same land. Everyone's doing a fantastic job with the mod; I'm giving my 2cent to a specific question. Thanks again to the whole design team.

I am not sure if I am understanding you. VP 3-15 beta has nothing to do with major civs and CS allocation, that's the map script duty.
Pangea is one of the base CivV map scripts. Following your commentary, I'd say you'd rather like the Oval mapscript, this one is also one of the basic maps.

I was asking about Communitu_79a mapscript, the recent fork of Communitas mapscript azum4roll and I have developed. It's more like a Continents mapscript, but a little more random.

    More game reports and thoughts:
    - I finished the Arabia game I already mentioned.
Won a science victory, cultural was just out of reach (more on that later).

I had a coastal city with 2 water tiles - I didn't have a choice if I wanted one there, and I needed the iron nearby - the only other solution was settling it 1 tile inland. This in retrospect was actually the correct decision given the current naval meta, but I hadn't realized it yet.
Anyway, this city must have changed hands 30 times. I couldn't defend it, so I had to settle for taking it back over and over and over.

    - I played a Japan game. Authority/Fealty/Imperialism/Order (instead of Autocracy!)
Fairly easy game. I slowly vassalized the world, but had to go almost all the way to the end, so I got to play with Robots. The current version is quite fun; you get to massacre less advanced units, and take cities ridiculously fast - but that's what's needed in the last few turns.
I would have won a science or domination victory but stopped before the end.
The power of naval units was too much once again: before I built up my navy I lost a couple of puppet cities a few times - had to retake them. Then once I had some decently leveled Ironclads it was just too easy to take enemy coastal cities. I vassalized Arabia in just a few turns, because two of its main cities were coastal.
I still had happiness issues... Revolts took place around the capital (probably because I was using a lot of specialists there), so they pillaged trade routes and multiplied. But in the end the barbs were squishy and easily put down; it was a minor annoyance (moving troops, rebuilding caravans and repairing improvements).

    - Brazil - Tradition/Artistry/Industry/Freedom
My religion got Symbolism (best enhancer, lots of GP) and Sacred Sites (the one you never take! +4 Tourism to Wonders), but I missed Stupas.
I really wanted to go for a cultural victory... but I didn't make it. Despite building a ton of Wonders, producing a ton of GPs, getting lots of Golden Ages, by the end of the game (I conceded a loss with Gandhi 8 tech ahead of me... in Industrial I was just 1 behind) I was only Influential with 2 civ.
Mind you, opposing AI had passed Travel Ban, so there is some justification for that... but I feel that the AI has gotten smarter about it, and Travel Ban will almost always pass if you threaten cultural victory.

    Balance Thoughts

As a reminder, I play on an Emperor+ difficulty setting: I tweaked Emperor by borrowing from some Immortal settings.
In recent games, I've also tweaked A/B/C to get smaller instant boosts (than Immortal) until ~Medieval, and bigger boosts later. I like the result; for instance, the AI forward-settling was more manageable.

    - Tourism
@Gazebo I'd really like your input on AI Tourism. Do they get any hand up that might explain why they do so well?
In my Brazil game, with 20+ Wonders, Sacred Sites, Artistry, ... India had only -15% Tourism compared to me (we both had all the tourism-enhancing techs), which could be explained by their having two more cities (5 vs 7). I have no idea how they equalized Brazilwood + all my Wonders including the Olympic Village + Sacred Sites + ...
It was a similar story in my Arabia game.

Overall cultural victory, which was perhaps too easy in past years, seems too hard now.
I suggest to proceed in steps:
1/ pump up basic Tourism (Great Works) first.
2/ Then take a second look at instant yields, which we were correct to lower but now are perhaps too lackluster? I noticed that the end of a trade route granted me 400 Tourism at some point... when my per-turn tourism was 800+.
3/ Lastly, take a look at Beliefs, Tenets, ...
I saw that Order now has a Tenet that grants +7 Tourism to GW? Order now actually seems better than Freedom, especially if you can get the Happiness boost.
4/ Resolutions: since Travel Ban has such a huge impact (much more so than Spaceflight Resolutions for instance) and is quite hard to counter, if there are still some issues we could lower the penalty.

    - Ideologies
I love the new Order but it's perhaps a bit overtuned.
It overshadows Freedom especially in my opinion.
Autocracy still has its niche (Elite Forces, Lebensraum, ...) but I don't even take it automatically as a warmonger, since science is quite important even for a warmonger, and Order is king there.

I suggest to tone down Order a bit (lower Science, boost warmongering which is not one of its strong points like it's supposed to be), and boost Freedom.
To start with, lower Workers Faculties to +5% Science. It's just a bit too good right now as a 1st tier tenet.

    - Naval vs cities
Already discussed to death. Please nerf.

    - Symbolism is still way too good. I've tried other Enhancers... I generally miss this one. You can never go wrong with it.

    More thoughts later.
I await the next beta with baited breath! :)

So 3-15 is the latest version, or are there any hotfixes or such available? I'm getting CTD every game at around turn 120-130.

I updated to the new version and started a new game. Emperor level. Went with Zulu and just finished conquering a capital but it's been absolutely brutal. In a good way, though (I think.)

The bug I mentioned before about my Purchase bonuses not applying. Well, not a bug. I just didn't understand that purchases of units (an immediate purchase) worked differently from buildings (a partial purchase.) I think that could be explained better.

Also, I was wondering if there's any way to actually look at an enemy unit. Obviously you can hover over it and the info screen pops up, but of course as soon as you try to mouse over the info screen (moving the pointer off the unit) it disappears. But I want to see the enemy unit's bonuses in detail. I don't know what all the symbols mean. Is there some way to "lock" the unit's info screen so I can hover over it and see all the bonuses in detail?

I actually quite like it because it buffs holy sites so I can get ridiculous yields from them when combined with other things :D.
3-15-2 is what I am using, I think that is the most recent.
No idea but good question, this would be useful!

Use the Promotion Flags for EUI mod listed in the compatible mods stickied thread. It displayed promotions as tiny icons above the actual units (and they don't disappear). When you mouse over them an explanatory tooltip is displayed. Mind you, some of the default promotions are hidden by default (you can tweak it somewhere in a config file of the mod).

Edit: By "bonuses", did you mean promotions?

Sorry, why are some of the default promotions not shown?

Yes, I mean promotions. I tried out the EUI before and didn't like it. Too cluttered for me, and there was some kind of bug where all the yields were colored green. Well, good to know someone has thought of this at least.

To avoid the clutter. Things like penalty against naval, etc. But I think you can make them show in the config file.

Same here, I detested EUI for a long time, but it has some very useful functions, so I have it a try and when I realised that you can turn off the ugly units list (also the city list, buy I find this one very useful), I never went back. I think you can turn off even more of its functions in a config file or by manually deleting some files, but personally I am happy with it as it is now.

There used to be non-EUI version of the Promotion Flags mod, but it does not work anymore. I suggest giving the EUI a chance, it is bearable if you turn off some elements to reduce the visual clutter and it adds things like indicators of what luxuries you need for the We Love The King in each city, etc. And it is needed for the Promotion Flags, which I find to be an essential mod.

Edit: When I say turn off, I mean in the game options in the main menu (only the advanced stuff is in the config files - never touched these myself)

I intended to complete the game i started a couple of days ago but -for the first time in forever- CTD after starting citizen earth protocol seems to have a different opinion on that matter.
Playing as the Shoshone on a standard size epic speed Emperor difficulty communitas map terra start with Tea as the primary luxury.
Imanaged totfound a religion second after spain using goddess of the home as a pantheon, charitarium from PAD new belief mod as the founder and orders as the 1st follower, unfortunately both my neighbours, Netherlands with incense monopoly and portugal managed to found a religion so keeping my own cites on my religion was not really doable unless i conquer them.
Social policies wise i picked Progress, Fealty and imperialism then autocracy just for 3rd alternative -coal was scarce on the main land-.
I had a ton of production in the early game thanks to tea plantations that i managed to get stonehenge, artemis, hanging gardens, terracotta army in my capital then took a break from building wonders during the medieval era to build an army to take the two holy cities and get a comfortable reformation without having to spend tons of faith just to fight the passive pressure.
I took Netherlands two main cities in the first war then vassalized him as i had no navy to take his water cities with only two under developed coastal cities at this point.
I rushed lower renaissance techs to get canons, yellow brows from 4th UCs and cuirassiers that outmatched portoguese forces taking all of their 4 mainland cities in a matter of 15 to 20 turns then vassalized her for the same reason as Netherlands.
At this point Spain from the opposite side of the world DOW on me with huge navy of armadas as i was just starting to build a navy, it was not fun ... I managed to barely hold my coastal city while Netherlands cities fell one after another before finally negotiating peace.
Got a chance to take my breath while land locked cities switched to diplo units production to snag as many city states as possible, the capital went on full wonder spamming mode getting Itza, porcelain tower, leaning tower of piza and uffizi .... Another land locked city getting globe theatre and the coastal city getting red fort my two coastal cities and the two captured capitals to full navy production but it was not until late industrial with cruisers and ironclads that i switched to cconquering the world mode.
DOWed on denmark putting a foothold on an island that had five of his cities with my navy in a couple of turns then embarked my main landforce of comanche raiders, fusiliers and a couple of field guns to take the rest of the islands while my navy engaged the rest of denmark navy to make it easier on the land forces to fight uninterrupted.
A couple of turns later denmark proposed peace with capitulation, i agreed even tho i had not captured his capital or holy city.
DOW on Montezuma pretty much at the same time as denmark but he was so far behind that he had nothing but two cities left after Spain, Denmark and france took most of his cities, he capitulated too and it was just a matter of defeating Spain to with the game.
Spain was the only true rival at this match with their ridiculous navy، even england that was pretty much minding their own business the entire match did not have a big enough navy to compete with Spain.
Bythe time i was done conquer ing denmark and the Aztecs, Spain had conquered and vassalized France and used it as a human shield against my land force.
Modern era time, got landships, light tanks, bombers and artillery before anyone but my navy was still just cruisers and ironclads .... DOW on Spain in a fight that was just a naval war on his water cities, i took like 40 turns but once i neutralized his main naval forces, their cities fell one after another in a matter of a turn or two -thanks ironclads, tottally worth nerfing-, i did not vassalize her this time .... I went for an elimination as she was the only civ i'm not influential on.
Started citizen earth protocol project in the atomic era with a huge lead on policies, army, gold, techs and land and even WC but CTD was there telling me you are not winning this!.

Agreed. Disabling both the city list and units list makes EUI 100% tolerable. If you need something of a replacement for that data, there is always List Enhacements, folks.

So I was forced to retire from my game at about turn 150. I went with Zulu and went after Songhai early. Took 3 cities (eliminating the civ) and I guess my big mistake was that I should've made the last one a puppet. Occupation unhappiness crippled me from that point in the game. But also, I had angered all my neighbors and after about another 30 turns Germany and Morocco and the Huns all declared war on me. I was holding off Germany and Morocco pretty well, though, and strangely the Huns to my south never sent a single unit at me. But then due to unhappiness I had a rebellion just when I had gotten long sword/pikemen tech. I hadn't even upgraded my own troops yet when two long swordsmen spawned next to my undefended capital. I was already behind in tech and throwing skirmishers and spearmen at Morocco's knights for the entire war. Threw in the towel at that point.

I've been using "Continents Plus" maps on all my VP attempts so far and something is really messed up about City-state spawning with these maps. There wasn't a single city-state near me in this game, and I noticed the same thing in 4 or 5 previous maps. No city-states anywhere except out on isolated islands or at least nowhere near the player spawn.

I'm going to try again but wow it seems damn hard. War weariness was totally crippling while I fought Songhai but the fight was so brutal I had almost no time to produce anything but troops. And that's with the Terracotta Army! I also had Statue of Zeus and of course Zulu promotion bonuses but my troops didn't seem to have any advantage.

As for EUI, I think I'll give it a try. Hopefully that Yield bug I encountered before is gone in the latest version.

Well the EUI was completely bugged for me. I did the auto-install and got a bunch of "missing asset" warnings. So I went back and did the manual installation with v1.29beta43a. Followed the instructions exactly, made sure there was only one copy of the UI folder, etc. Anyway, the "missing asset" warnings went away but when I started the game I couldn't choose my units or move them, and there were empty frames in some places on the HUD where graphics should've been. Restarted the game several times, trying different things, and turned off the "promotion tree" Mod. No dice.

For some reason I had two Civ 5 directories on my comp. One on C: and one on D:, as I have two separate Steam directories. Don't know why Civ 5 was in both. Don't know if that was causing the problem. So right now I'm reinstalling the entire game after deleting all Civ 5 files including under My Documents. I'll try again from scratch I guess, see if I can get VP to work with EUI.
