    The Spanish court moved to Alhambra after they took it, and it’s in Spain now. It’s just as much a Spanish building as a Moorish one at this point

    Alhambra had two phases - it was moorish by construction, but it was also used as the Spanish court for Isabella. Since it's the only WW in the game in Spain, I felt it was more thematic to have it lean towards being a Spanish wonder, rather than a Moorish one. And Jinete were very important during the reconquista.

    Edit: there are also a few different buildings and wonders that give bonuses to non-mounted units, but nothing for mounted units. Having a WW that buffs mounted melee felt like a useful niche, especially in the medieval era, as it will extend the utility of mounted melee units past the Renaissance for the one civ that goes Authority and gets it.

    Spear throws for Impi makes them rediculous instead of just good, I try very hard to take out shaka before Impis.
    Yes its broken to have on knights.
    Cataphracts and Conquistadors with pre strike ... yeah fun times.

    Only one or the other will have the bonus. You have to commit to Authority and get the wonder to get it, it isn't guaranteed for anyone.

    My units stationed inside a neutral CS for several turns don't cause relationship drop. Never observed this before.

    It's because there is a barbarian adjacent or in the city borders, afaik you don't get relatioship penalty in this case.

    Some may find Alhambra didn't need anything, but I'm personally thrilled you found something to make it unique and impactful; after all, it is the main warmonger wonder... I would hope it still keeps Drill as well? Normal units would receive nothing otherwise.

    And I'm halfway through a Spain game from last beta... I guess it's round two for Isabella.

    As Rafs answered, if there are Barbarians nearby you won't get influence decay while in CS borders. You can see that there is always a "quest" (Barbarians razing our territory or something like that) when this is the case.

    Also, sweet dandy candy, what is that resolution? 20k? :lol:

    Spear throw really is just an enabler for extra XP, the damage is trivial. That's why they're bonkers in Shaka's hands, because of his reduced thresholds for leveling. Without that... it's a nice perk but nothing too strong.

    Honestly what has me more concerned is the rather high retreat chance. Knights can be incredibly tanky for their era as is, I'm really not going to appreciate half my attacks just not doing anything (or worse, helping them retreat out of range of my other units). Combined with something like the new overrun, Knights seem like they can just blast right up in the enemy's face, do a ton of splash damage, and probably get out alive. Certainly breaks stalls, but it seems too much.

    Poor University of Sankore is going to need a buff too now that it's brothers are must-builds.

    Still seems pretty weak compared to the rest of . Ambition is +30% attack +5 defense, ancestral protection is +5/+30.

    What if it was +15% flank bonus and then add ignores ZoC? Makes it more "sneaky"

    Half a game in as Spain, emperor- (free worker removed).
    God of the sea -> decent expand.
    Alhambra -> Conquistadors smashing left and right, yes it is op.
    Overextending a bit here and there but just purchase some new ones, they are so strong in offence they don't really need any exp.
    As spain the gold from city conquer allows for a good amount of purchase (and faith for buying ships).
    I did fail on hero worship but holy law isnt bad either.
    Probably a bit less op in the hands of some other civs/leaders but I can imagine abusing alhambra as Russia with 2x horses, Byzantines with cataphracts or why not Poland, ducal stable gives a free horse and sheesh Winged hussars (yes a fair bit later in tech) will with this ability really crush.
