There's a new BtS patch out now, June 10, 2009. Don't know if it breaks FfH, but I'm not going to find out either since I don't want to break my FfH to find out. :)

Also, I remember Pillar of Chains and Governor's Manor giving +1 :hammers: for each  point that you have in total. 15  and 13 :) makes a total of 2  citizens, but +15 :hammers:.

I'm currently playing the go-kill-3-opposing-civs-with-Basium's-help scenario and The Pillar of Chains and Governor's Manor are only giving  - :) = bonus :hammers:. That makes Pillar of Chains really quite worthless and it makes Governor's Manor only worthwhile as a Vampire prerequisite building.

I'm playing patch .41a and I don't recall seeing this in the change log at any point recently. Don't want to report it as a bug if it's working as designed.

seriously???????

Woah. Thought they were done patching BTS. This isn't good.

I had noticed that about the govenors manors (specifically, Pillar of Chains) in orbis, but it works that 1  = 1 :hammers: in FF and its derivitives. As I'm not sure which way it is supposed to work, I just left it alone.

That's good for the majority of people here, since that patch fixes some issues with the game - what's bad in that? Isn't that good for me, since I have to wait 'till the cyberwizards from civfanatics.ru will make an unofficial 3.19 patch for the Russian version. I hate the Russian version distributor, I always play my civ in English anyway!

It's supposed to work 1:mad: = 1:hammers: not taking the :) into account.

Governor's manor displays  - :) = bonus :hammers: but it actually gives 1:mad: = 1:hammers:. Former is bugged, latter is WAD.

I'm just afraid of compatability issues and possible difficulty of putting FFH on it, along with any/every modmods.

Wow, I hadn't thought of problems with FfH, lucky me that I haven't installed the new BtS patch (which really does seem to include some nice things from a BtS perspective). About Governor's Manors - AFAIK it probably IS working correctly. You get the hammers for the whole  total - they're just not listed, don't even show up on the demographics screen.

wait what?? So pillar of chains and governors house are actually uber and I never noticed it?? Some how I think its supposed to work with the EXTRA unhappy, not the total population + unhappiness modifiers (which would be the 15  in this case)

Correct me if Im wrong but isnt it supposed to just be the 2  citizens that get turned into an extra hammer each.

It's supposed to give a :hammers: for each  generated in the city, not just the excess. That's what happens, at least for me; the bug, as Monkeyfinger said, is in how it is displayed by the UI.

They used to work like that, but a patch a while back changed them to how they currently work and the changelog said that they've always been supposed to work that way, and had been bugged all along. But while the functionality changed, the display didn't.

yea ... the excess would be the normal thing I would take it, while the older way seems extremely OP

Imagine you have a city with 15  and 13 :). Don't you think that it would be better to get an extra 2 :) or find a way to dispose of that extra 2 population (easy to do with Vampires...)? Or would you rather pay hundreds and hundreds of hammers to get 1 :hammers: out of that  citizen?

Keep in mind that most citizens who aren't specialists are going to produce 3-5 food and a couple of commerce or 1-2 food and 2-4 hammers by the time you have one/both of these built. Pillar of Chains was the Chitzen Itza of FfH until it was changed from  citizens :)mad: - :)) to total  points in the city.

Thanks to those who pointed out my problem was with the UI and not with the number of hammers actually generated.

I still don't really like the idea myself. What if Pillar of Chains reduced(or eliminated) anarchy time instead of adding :hammers:? Seems to fit with the lore better.

you no longer need the disc to play BtS!!!!in your disc drive of course

I've always thought that it gave only excess bonus... Damn it, I really underestimated this building. If I knew it, I'd make an art for it much earlier :D.

2 civ_king: you were always able to do it. No need for huge letters.
