Faustmouse you can find and replace a word in multiple files with Notepad++.

I can replace the word in my sample XML folder with the word I need. NUTELLA_FACTORY with WIKIA. replace in all the 5 XML with one click. Then rename the . Dds art location in the XML.

I'm working on a program that would basically take your building suggestions as Input and give 4 .txt files as Output: BuildingClassInfos, BuildingInfos, BuildingArtDefine and BuildingTextDefine. It will also do the following:

- take the name that you give the building and convert it into a tag. Rock Art -> ROCK_ART

- fill in Bonus requirements, building reqirements, power requirements, pop requirements, tech requirements, river/coast requirements, obsolete tech. Note, since I won't have a list, it will convert the prereqs you post into tags, like above. So if you say "requires Online Communities" it will fill in "TECH_ONLINE_COMMUNITIES" in the tag. So you (meaning: I) need to edit the file afterwards. Same for bonus or building requirements. You could, however, help me if you'd write in your building suggestions: "requires MMO". Then it would input: TECH_MMO. Would save some additional time ;)
It CAN understand the difference between OR and AND requirements and fill it in correctly. Only case not programmend would be bonus prereq "A AND B AND C OR D OR ... So if there are more then one AND, it can't handle ORs. If there is only one AND (and rest ORs) or no AND (and rest ORs) or just ANDs, then it works fine. For building requirements, it should be able to to them all: A AND B AND C OR D OR E OR F.

- fill in values like +:health: , + :mad:, +:gold: +:hammers: etc. Also +2:science: from Tech X (note: same problem here, take the name of the techs and convert it into a tag. Also +2% :science: from Biopolymers will work.

- fill in replace buildings, properties, vicinity requirements, war weariness, tax happyness modifiers, doubeling times, bonus happyness and health changes, tech happyness and health changes, specailists and free specialists etc.

- The BuildingText would only need the pedia and strategy edited, the BuildingClassInfos would be done completely (can understand WW or NW) and the ArtDefines would create the correct path to the artwork (and name it systematically as I do: Building Name -> /buildingname.dds


So you see this programm would save A LOT of time when making building (if it will run on windows, lol :P). Once finished, I'll tell you what you'd need to change when suggesting a building (for example: it would be easier if you'd write "-1:health: instead of +1:yuck:)
Note that this programm would be REALLY basic since it should only HELP when making buildings. If it could do everythink, it would take much more time to code this program, which is unecessary I think. Thinks like "can only be build if civic X is active" is so rare, that it would be stupid if you'd take the time to code it in the programm.

I've been thinking for a while for a new building, called ISP Offices (i.e Internet Service Provider Offices, but that would be too long). It would be provided for ALL nations when one builds The Internet. Details below:

Perhaps it could also provide a free Server of the respective site?)
 
@Faustmouse I am putting it on hold because I think it needs a stat change, and we don't really need a Wikia building per city. The problem is that anyone in the world can have access to Wikipedia in multiple languages. It's a non-profit so it is not own by a government.

I love Tolni ideas. We need an ISP Service, and it would make sense to have a Server building built in a city to represent internet access.

These could be World Wonders.

EDIT :Microsoft could replace Apple or Samsung, Windows had a major impact in culture and production.
 
Loving the ISP provider concept. We could even do one better and show the progression from dial-up to cable/dsl to high speed wireless and perhaps beyond... food for thought.

Even if its not owned by the government we have lots of buildings already in the game that are not typically built by a government. I think for C2C you have to thin less about playing as a leader of an empire but the sharper of an entire culture. Because realistically a leader is not immortal. And its not like if you take democracy civic you have to hold elections to stay in office.

As for Wikia specifically I think its more getting access to it and the wonder is inventing it.

So this will everyone will have internet access but they have to pay for it?

And DH (Or Koshling?) said that if we'd have some buildings that give free supply of some things like water, food, internet... there should be first a set of buildings that make sure that your cities have those things at all. Like the Buildings that give free Water Pipes or Power Lines to all cities.
 
Actually, is it possible to make requirements like "Requires Power", except that in that case it would be "Requires Internet Access", without which you can't make the sites and whatnot.

Also, we could make it like it's done with the Power Plants - all of them would give Internet Access, but DSL would be better than dial-up and also it will be required for more advanced sites and corporations.

Basically, dial-up will be used for AOL wonder (if there is one) only, and will be sorta useless. Save for the fact it's the first internet provider.
