New civ : Australia

Just finished my first game with them and I think they are one of my favorites. Only thing I couldn't do was get their civ achievement, couldn't find a good place for it anywhere. Guess I will have to try again. I also found myself looking for cities to liberate just so I could get that sweet production bonus. La Venta was very happy to be freed from their oppressor Gilgamesh.

I allso enjoy really fresh and new ideas that represent a different culture. Like next we should have a civ for New York. Then California. Big markets, those

It's actually better than farms to just spam the outback stations everywhere in certain circumstances.

And we are :) way way more than in V!

Well, I do care more now for terrain yields and movement points now than in V. Back then, I'd just either spam farms or trading posts everywhere, since I knew that with 20+ pop I'd have many people assigned to tiles and specialists.

Finally got a chance to play as Australia. The outback outpost is great. I love how it connects the fences from adjacent outposts and pastures. What I didn't realize was that pastures receive +1 production for each adjacent outpost.

yeah I found it hard to find a sheep next to a lumber mill also. So I cheated a little, when the AI declared war on me I capped a city or 2 that had sheep then built a woods/mill next to it swapped control of land from cities and gave one city back to AI as part of a peace deal. then I culture bombed the lumber mill with my sheep pasture build.

How do Australians feel about John Curtin?
Curtin made some very important decisions during WW2 which finally put us on a separate path moving away from Britain, like recalling our army to actually fight in New Guinea instead of over in Europe / North Africa.
