new Conquest wonders don't show up on birds eye view...

Yeah, I noticed this too, after rushing to build one of them just to see what it looked like... what a dissapointment! I also noticed that if you load any custom scenarioo, even just a map with no rule changes, you cannot view the city at all ! Yet another disappointment... Maybe this will be changed/fixed in an patch... So far, however, this is my only complaint!:D

Even in the CORE GAME!?

To be honest the city view was mediocre anyway. If I want to know whats in a city I just look at the side bar. Besides this gives me more legitimacy when creating new wonders because while I cant add city views nor could Firaxis be bothered either. Plus the city screen looked SO unrealistic. You could have three small huts and the Pyramids; which was, quite frankly, absurd.

:(

Shame, that. Hopefully, it can be fixed in a patch. But is there room for more buildings in the city view? How are the other new city improvements showing?

Well, this is a minor drawback, anyway. And I'm still going to enjoy Conquests whenever I get it.

No, the city view is still available in the core game, but, as spicytimothy mentioned, the new C3C wonders do not display.

I don't utilize the city view to see what I've built; I just find it somewhat gratifying (even if not realistic at times).

I can't imagine why they wouldn't put the new stuff in the city view... they've already gone through the trouble of creating the graphics (for the Civlopedia entries) and the PTW improvements demonstrate that it's possible to add new stuff to the city view (at the developement level, anyway). Why not take the little extra time to show off the work that they've already done...?

Perhaps a solution to the scenario problem would be to set a flag in the editor to enable/disable the city view. This will allow the mods that only involve slight changes (ie, unit rebalancing, improvement costs, etc) to still view the city screen.

I agree.City view was unrealistic and as i hear it remained the same.I hoped they would change something in this, but know you say that they didn't add either the new GW.I am not saying that it's the most important part of the game, but it would be nice to be able to see what you are bulding(all theese buldings/great,small wonders/roads,railroad..and goes on).Hope they will make a change someday!

Much as I'm impressed with all the new stuff, I must say I'm disappointed with this choice. I mean, surely with access to the source code it wouldn't have taken THAT many man hours to add (what, 5 new wonders) to the Cityview.

It kinda makes the expansion seem a little cheap. While I don't rely on the Cityview, I often check it out while pondering a strategic shift, and it adds immensely to the 'immersiveness' of the experience (its especially rewarding when going for a 20k victory :) ).

I really hope enough peeps feel the same so we can get a patch to polish this loose end up.

I too am thouroghlly dissapointed :( I wanted to see the temple fo Zeus in my great capital city...after all, if they have the civpedia art, how hard could it have too add it in to the city veiw?

I don't have a problem with it. It isn't as easy as some would think. At the least,
I would surmise that you would have to resize each and every Wonder (Great and
Small), and All Improvements (not just the Conquests ones). Then, you would
have to work out positioning based on the new sizes and the extra new buildings
from Conquests. Throw in whatever coding requirements would have to be
added/changed. I am not sure how much more would be needed than this, but this is
plenty. Now, would you rather that they spent a massive
amount of time doing
this, or spent the same amount of time adding the stuff
that was added; how
much of what is in now would have been left out to achieve
this? Maybe Merepatra
or Gobi Bear will give a clue as to how much time this would
take and how much
would have been left out.

This screenshot shows a city with every single Great Wonder, Small Wonder and City Improvement available to you in Civilization III without the expansion. There are sixty-three altogether. However, I did have to do some tweaking to get all of them. For example, I had to make sure that building a solar plant would not replace a coal plant I already had installed. I also had to make sure I had four other cities, for some improvements that need five of one thing, such as Battlefield Medicine needing five hospitals. I even managed to get the United Nations without being elected, as well as the Forbidden Palace and a Palace. The only thing wrong with this is that the Palace blocks the entrance to the Forbidden Palace, the Pentagon is overlaping on top of Copernicus' Observatory and, of course, it's just a little bit to crowded!
There is an easy way to make a city like this: just use the editor to give a city everything. Thanks to Carlos for the screenshot.

it might be pointless to you, but I have always enjoyed it :)

Pffft.

I don't see why the whole Aerial View would have to be redone.

Theres heaps of room for new Wonders (Maybe not Pyramid sized) without altering the current positions.

Not remaining true to the original game in this respect just seems. . . tacky and unprofessional.

I agree- there is PLENTY of Room in the south west corner to incoperate three of the new wonders, assuming the are large- the Mausolem shoul dbe out in the harbor anyway, considering it was done on an island or istmus IIRC, and there is room behind the cure for cancer (the eagle wonder atop a cadacus) for at least one more

You left out the other part of the equation, which is time. Art work takes a lot of time, and I do mean a lot of time. Would you prefer they wasted it on the Aerial View and left out a lot of other stuff? I prefer the other stuff being in. Just because it looks like there is a lot of room doesn't mean there is.

A- there is a good amout room

B- correct me if I'm wrong, but the civpedia pic are mor eor less the same that appear in the overhead veiw

C-I dont THINK it would take a great deal of time to fix it, which is why I HOPE it can be fixed in a patch
